We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks in January 2023. We were in room 1182 throughout the stay.||||The hotel is very well situated with a lot of shopping malls in the vicinity. You will not be short of places to buy food and sundries. There is a light rail (tram) station opposite the hotel which is two stops from the train station. The tram station offers step-free access (very handy with a pram). There are also taxis available outside the hotel as well.||||If you paid for complimentary breakfast (more on this later), then you should ask to stay in Tower B - if you stay in Tower A you would need to walk to Tower B every day for breakfast.||||Booking on booking.com was seamless but the staff need to remind themselves of the details of each room. I asked for a room with a microwave (we have a baby who needs things sterilized) and was told by two different people that the room would not have a microwave - fortunately, it did! it is almost comical.||||What was not comical is that a hotel of this size and reputation still does not offer WiFi in its rooms! WiFi is available in the foyer and I believe the upper floor suites (20+) but our room had no such thing. ||||The room itself was big and comfortable although the furnishings are very outdated and show signs of wear and tear. We liked the partition which separates the sleeping area from the lounge area - which makes the room itself like a suite.||||Upon entry, the room has a kitchenette - very handy for storing baby stuff. There is also a fridge as well - our fridge temperature was set to 3 on the dial, but to be effective, we turned the dial to full blast - 6. ||||There is plenty of storage for both clothes, belongings and luggage. The room definitely has a lot more storage than your average hotel room. ||||The bathroom was very nice and spacious, but again, could do with updating. There is plenty of storage in the bathroom for your toiletries - again, there is more bathroom storage than in your average hotel room. We loved the power of the showerhead - so nice after a day out. ||||The kingsize bed was very comfortable and the window had a nice view of the town. The cot for our baby was very nice as well - they paid a lot of attention to the comfort of the pram, adding a nice thrill around the edges. ||||Housekeeping is excellent - whenever there was a problem, they were around within 5 minutes - this definitely beats some more luxurious hotels in terms of response. The ladies who cleaned out the room were extremely nice and did a good job cleaning (sorry if we were very late every day leaving our room).||||However, here is a list of issues experienced with the room:||a) Safe stopped working (I think the battery ran out)||b) Keycard reader on the door was temperamental||c) Toilet seat came off||d) Toilet flush was very slow (I believe it was a design issue)||e) Plug socket burned out (and had to be replaced)||f) Mirror could have done with a good clean and there was dust on the slats of the wardrobe doors||g) The air conditioning dial has an option for heat - unfortunately, it does not work! There were some days which were very cold - so we ended up buying a small electric fan heater.||||All issues were quickly resolved. The maintenance people were very efficient and courteous.||||As for breakfast, it is not very good. There is a very limited selection on offer for breakfast consisting of breads, English breakfast, salad and yoghurt. There is no fresh fruit available and only one coffee machine. After a few days, we ended up going out for breakfast (food is cheap in Hong Kong). Considering that the hotel offers a very good lunch and dinner buffet, they should try and offer a better breakfast.||||Overall, it was a good stay and we will definitely come back. This hotel is one of two in the vicinity (we heard bad things about Hotel...
Read moreI am living in a service apartment in Tower 1 for nearly 2 months. It is an old hotel and amenities and furniture's I guess over 20 years old. In winter time no convertible aircon system, If you are allergic to the dust then is not a room for you because aircon system constantly blowing tiny dust particles ,which accumulated over years in the ventilation systems. Rooms are not noise isolated and you can easily hear your next door telephone conversation in the midnight. Lifts are making constant noise when operated and you can also hear this regardless how far your room from the lift shaft. Coin laundry is another antique place. Washing machines and dryers probably manufactured in 19th century and outnumbered and you need to be too quick to get the vacant one or need to wait hours . Room service( for service apart) is kind of terrible. Only the towels and bedlinens are changed once a week and very, very, briefly toilets and bathroom are cleaned. No dusting or deep vacuuming. In storage cabinets you can easily feel the over aged wood smell. Very limited plates and cooking utensil are provided be careful if you break any of them you may need to pay big money. There are a lot of local families living in service apartment with their children ,who goes to near by school. If you are the one residing just below one of them then good luck make yourself ready to the noise of the child running in the room non stop. For security reason windows are locked and if you need to fresh air just get out from your hotel Only pros is next door big shopping mall where you can buy your daily needs and eat Very limited western food and few fast-food restaurant Light rail station is few minutes walk distance. Shortly is not a best place to stay but it is only the option in...
Read moreThis hotel is convenient located near Hong Kong's Wetland Park, Tin Shui Wai Park and Kingswood shopping mall. It is easy to reach via public transport from anywhere in Hong Kong. But that's where the best part of this property stops.
I had booked a king size room and got one at Tower 1 where the rooms are still in original very old state. In one word absolute outdated! The bed is extreme hard. I mean it is like sleeping on a wooden board. I personally like a firm mattress but this is unacceptable.
The cleanliness of the hotel room is in best case just so so. The bathroom is very dirty with mold growing on seal at the bathtub/shower area as parts of the kitchen sink. the shower curtains o-rings are all corroded (rusty). ceiling tiles are partly broken and ill fitting. The provided TV is very tiny. The walls overall look like they where many times repaired and painted with different shades of the same color. The carpets are very dirty and extremely worn with stains all over the place.
The reception staff does not speak well English. The hotel maid didn't speak...
