Shangri-La Baita International Youth Hostel — Hotel in Jiantang

We love everything at this hostel. From the staffs to the rooms and others. The room is spacious and clean. The reception area is the place where you are checked in and out. There are some book cases, tables and chairs where you can sit and relax, or even play a game. having a chat with your friends or other guests. There is a piano in the corner and also a billiard table where you can play with your friends. We love the host's family. They are nice people with warm heart. You should ask some driver to show you how to get to this hostel ( they also can help to call the hostel for assistance). It is actually in a very good location, walkable distance to the center of the old city and enough to be quiet. There are some restaurants with nice food on the way from the center to the hostel. If you cannot speak Chinese like us, just look for restaurant with pictures. Thank you very much for making our stay in Shangri- La a convenience. I've stayed 3 nights in this place, and I kept being amazed by how bad everything was. From the staff to the location, the room... Everything is flawed.

First off, the location on Google maps or maps.me is wrong. It's about 5-10 minutes away from the old town. Don't get fooled.

The staff : they are rude. Plain and simple. When they're around, they play games and make you wait. Not one word of English is spoken. Quite bad for an international youth hostel.

The rooms are never cleaned by the staff during the stay. Dogs bark day and night around the hostel. Laundry service is on the roof, very old machine and no dryer. They advertise taxi services to the bus station that they actually don't provide. Sockets are not good. The list is...
