Holiday Inn Nanchang Riverside — Hotel in Nanchang

The hotel was closer to the airport than I expected.

I was greeted by the bell-hops and led to the check-in desk. They recognized my Spire Elite status at check-in and offered me my welcome amenity.

The Chinese cuisine on the 2nd floor restaurant was nicely prepared. I did not try the dine-in room service.

I stayed in the Superior Suite. Large, spacious bathroom and huge tub. The suite also had a nice work desk and modern swiveling chair, spacious living room, and, more importantly, a telescope. The colorful cityscape and towers on the opposite side of the river lit up at dusk. There was also an outdoor patio deck for the bar Vogue that I could see outside my window, a few floors below. The resident DJ at Vogue plays dubstep music. The bar itself is upscale, 2-floors, with limited seating, but eclectic decor.

They have a professional gym and it is HUGE with many, many machines, and has many personal trainers on site. Half of the patrons were probably not staying at the hotel but paying for lessons or had a monthly membership.

Overall a great bargain for a business traveler who likes to unwind to some good music somewhere hip. Would definitely...

While lots of IHG properties are giving up on their service standard for high tier members in the IHG club, Holiday Inn Riverside Nanchang goes way out of their league to make frequent travelers feel respected and honored.|I got room upgrade and club access as well as a 60 CNY food voucher which I used for my room service Fettuccine with Thai Seafood Sauce. Wow! I didn’t expect it to be so authentically Hong Kong in an inner city in the mainland. It was da bomb!!! |Breakfast is simple but right on the money, you get everything you need plus local foods. Try Stirred Noodles, a local delicacy very popular in Nanchang. Pastry Chef Wu shifu does an amazing job baking croissants. Way better than those served in the next door Sheraton.|The only thing bothers me is there’s sometimes people smoking in the elevators. Hotel management has placed signs everywhere employing pretty tough language to discourage in-house smoking. I guess you need to learn to deal with it in Nanchang. It ain’t...
