This is one of those outstanding places to stay. When we walked in 2 weeks into our trip the space compared to normal hotel rooms is fantastic. Kitchen with the works, dinner area TV lounge, study space, walking robes big bathroom, foyer area second toilet in the washing room with washer dryer ( a god send at this stage of the trip).||Service was excellent and 24 hours as we arrived at 1 am. Used a taxi from the airport which was efficient but we always have a hotel card ( if we have been before) or get a Chinese address using the Hotels internet page. Print out the page with image of hotel and address in Chinese it can safe you a lot of hassles. When there always get a hotel card as it has location and address maps and instructions for taxi drivers.||Great breakfast area which is also the restaurant at night. We did eat in once to try the place and food and service was excellent. Language was a bit touchy but we got there in the end. Reception English is excellent.||The location is good as it is 40 minutes flat walk from the Nanjing Massacre Museum and there is a supermarket in a shopping complex across the road.||They have a pool which at this time of the year was being repaired, gym and bar. The bar and these facilities are in a separate building accessible via a short walk from the reception or via the underground carpark.||No real service in the bar area in winter even though they say it is open. Making cocktails in China is a hit and miss affair and this is the only area this place could work on. It is a great bar area and they could make better use of it.||We loved the place as we had time to wash our gear after two weeks in Europe and relax. We also did a number of tours some which will pick you up from the hotel or give you a central point to go to. We opted fro the hotel pickups.||When we arrived in China we purchased for $160 Australian at Shanghai airport a mobile 4G internet connection device with 2 weeks of time. You keep the machine and can top up at the airport the next time you come in. Different to Japan were you have to get the devise back via mail or drop back at the same airport a problem if you fly into Tokyo and leave via Osaka.||The devise in China was a real bonus to have as we walk a great deal around cities and you can use the map app to navigate or find places.||Fraser here and the others we have stayed in are excellent value and a nice luxury...
Read moreAfter a week of travelling, it was great to arrive to a warm welcome at the Fraser Suites. My 1 bedroom apartment was massive - kitchen with dining table/ lounge with 2 sofas, 2 bathrooms, bedroom and attached office. I loved having a teapot and a selection of Twinings tea. The washing machine/drier (with laundry powder provided) was a welcome addition. The apartment was so large I had to go through it a couple of times when I left to make sure I hadn’t left anything in one of the many cupboards etc. The linen was good and the bed firm, but comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was ok - I like a Western breakfast and there was a selection of cereals, fruit, pottle of liquid yoghurt, breads, cheese/cold meat. In the 3 days I was there, only once was I offered a hot drink, towards the end of my meal. I actually was happy to have tea in my room, but thought it strange not to have anything offered at breakfast. Also, the tables were not always cleared quickly, which made it difficult when the dining room was busy. |The one thing that didn’t fit with the rest of the amazing setting was the carpets. In the dining room and corridors the carpets were not well fitted - they were rumpled. Otherwise everything else was very...
Read moreBrilliant find. Booked a family room, which was massive with two large bedrooms and washrooms, great sized balcony and a colossal living room (also nice kitchen). The whole decor was very modern and you could really see that the attention to detail had gone into everything, even the high end lighting and audio solutions in the rooms.||||Also massively impressed with the service levels. I never really expect much in China, but the front of house guys here were always really helpful. Very attentive and efficient and also keen to give out local tips and pointers. Just a genuine warmth and will to assist that is usually so rare in China hotels. Also all the staff had great English.||||Considering the size of the accommodation, added to the service levels and facilities it was also great value for money.||||The restaurant allegedly did open at some points in the day, but we never did seem to catch one of those brief periods, but the staff were so helpful and knowledgeable in recommending alternatives we really weren't bothered. ||||Would definitely be my go to hotel for my next visit definitely an...
