This hotel is really good, I’m going to open with that because it’s highly convenient and the rooms have a beautiful view which overlook Century Park and the incredible Shanghai skyline.||As I said, the hotel pretty much has a metro station integrated into it. If you use the right exit, the door to the hotel is right at the top of the escalator which is really helpful in getting into the downtown area or the airport.||The rooms are lovely and spacious and ours has a nice little balcony overlooking the park and skyline which was a nice bonus we hadn’t accounted for. Everything was comfortable and quiet too which also helped after arriving on a long haul flight.||Now for the points which stopped this being a full 5 star review.||Firstly, the shower situation. I’m more a fan of having a shower separately to the bath but here the shower is attached to the wall, when on the water runs over the side of the bath and is a little awkward for usage. Rooms could use having a shower head right over the bath itself.||Breakfast was serviceable. The first day was great as we were early down but the second day was different as we were later. Items were either running very low or had run out. About 20 mins before the service ended we were also told that we’d need to be out by the time advertised for service which made it feel a little rushed.||Overall though, a nice hotel which is convenient and...
Read moreAmazing location - the surrounding area is really nice and it's easy to go further into the city as the metro station is practically inside the hotel. This area is really great for biking with lots of cycle lanes and the roads are not too busy. The hotel itself is very nice. Staff are very friendly. Breakfast was included in our booking and I was really pleased with it. Lots of selection - both Western and Asian options both of which were pretty good. We stayed for 10 nights and didn't get bored of it. WiFi was pretty solid.
A couple points for improvement - on arrival, the receptionist told us the room we had booked was unavailable and we would need to pay extra to upgrade to a different room. This was very annoying, but after I said no they "upgraded" us for free. I put this in quotation marks because this happens all the time in China and it is never an actual upgrade. It's a shame to see a relatively nice hotel try and pull these tactics but ultimately it didn't affect our stay. The room they gave us was good but quite small. AC worked okay and it was quiet. Bathroom is nice but the shower is at a weird angle. Thankfully we had a balcony, otherwise I have no idea where we'd have put our suitcases as there is very minimal storage and the room can't be much bigger than 20 square metres with the bed taking up half of that.
Overall, I'd be happy to...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I picked this hotel for our 3 days Shanghai vacation. They did not disappoint. The rooms are not too big and not small either. Just the right size. Clean, great city view, fridge in room (love cold drinks) lol, There’s a train station right underneath the hotel. The breakfast is for kings. We almost went into a food coma because of how much we ate. I know, we were gluttons for a minute. The breakfast is buffet style, I call it brunch lol! You won’t be disappointed. Trust me. Would highly recommend this hotel. There’s a park across the hotel for a small fee ¥5. a bakery shop on site. We are planning on coming back to this hotel after a small trip to Hong Kong. Oh and if you are looking to shop cheap, whether it’s for popular or regular stuff, take the train and head on to Shanghai science and technology museum stop. Bargain bargain bargain lol! You’ll thank me later. :) otherwise for other normal mall like stuff head on to Jing’an Temple train stop and walk up and down that area. Really expensive stuff. For nightlife, we found an Afro fusion club at Three on the bund. Free gin and tonic between 9.30pm and 10.30pm. Club closes at 4am. Sorry for so much info :) have fun which at sure you will...
