Read moreDidn't stay in that hotel. My comments are on Maglev train. It's getting old. I rode it years ago when first installed. Somehow this time the speed limit is being slowed down from over 400Km/hr. to max 301Km/hr. Wonder why? If one is in a hurry, it can save time. Travel time around 8 mins. Problem is the train runs on a 20 mins interval, so the time adds up. Since the Shanghai subway Line 2 now reach the Pudong Int'l Airport, & costs only 7 RMB from PuXi. It takes probably around 25-30 mins from LungYang Road. So if one takes the Maglev waiting time if you just missed one, may not worth it? BTW, Maglev costs 50 RMB for economy, double for 1st class. Another thing, the new Speed train is much better, faster, quite, & very smooth & stable. ...
Read moreLocation on the concourse between the Metro Line #2 and the Maglev couldn't be better. Also it is near a 1st floor mall with abundant eateries which was a bonus as it was raining. Room was EXTREMELY basic, no wardrobe or safe, but clean. Hotel has more rooms than you would expect and it could possibly become noisy in the corridors but I was in a room not near anyone else. Staff do not speak English but they were very helpful indeed. For the price paid a one night stay is excellent value for money. The whole place should be re-vamped and upgraded as it is looking very tired if not old but then it would be more expensive. Don't stay here if you want all of the luxuries as there aren't any, just a basic room. Will stay again only for the...
