This review comes from an IHG Platinum member. My family and I have been to Shanghai many times and visited several hotels, and this was a very average experience. We won’t come back to the hotel any time soon, as there are many other options that are better for Platinum members and families.|As a Platinum member, I should be guaranteed an upgrade + a welcome amenity. The welcome amenity was a nice beverage at the lobby lounge, which was applied to all my guests. This was great. But there was not really an upgrade that we noticed, maybe a different side but the room was the same that we ordered. I was able to obtain free breakfast for one of my rooms after requesting it. However, no lounge, and the front desk was snappy at this request. In Shanghai, I have received lounge and free breakfast at both Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza so I would say these are better options if you are an IHG member.|Next, the rooms were really small, in fact it was difficult as a bigger guy to go to the toilet, certainly my legs were hitting the wall. It is surprising a newish hotel has such small rooms for toilets and the shower.|Finally, the breakfast was very average although there were a lot of options. My kids, who are not very picky, went away hungry each morning. |So the final verdict from me is that this may be an okay place as a business traveler, but I won’t be back with my family, as there are a plethora of friendlier options in Shanghai...
Read moreRecent stay at this hotel started with an unexpected downpour, and I arrived at the front door drenched from head to toe. While my initial impression was a bit dampened, what followed was an experience that showcased the hotel's dedication to guest comfort and service.
As I walked towards the check-in desk with water dripping from my clothes, the receptionist promptly noticed and came forward with a box of tissues. While this might not seem like a grand gesture, it was a thoughtful and practical response to my immediate need. I appreciated the quick action and the tissue box, which allowed me to at least start drying off myself. However, it would have been even more appreciated if they offered a towel.
Check-in process was relatively smooth, with the receptionist maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor throughout. I was given all the necessary information about my stay, including details about the hotel's amenities.
The room I was assigned was comfortable and well-maintained. It offered a cozy refuge after my wet ordeal, and I was grateful for the warm shower.
Throughout my 2 nights stay, I encountered other staff members who were polite and attentive. The restaurant staff provided good service, and the food was...
Read moreWe made a reservation through IHG, for 2 rooms with Club Lounge Access. In each room, there would be 2 Adults and 1 child. Ages were stated accurately. Check in was fine. When we arrived at the lounge, one of the staff told us we could not enter, because the maximum number of guests per room allowed into the lounge was 2. I asked her to check my reservation, but she refused to do that, and when I suggested she call reception she then insisted upon speaking at me, via a translation app, and not listening. She demanded 150RMB per guest, and was unwilling to listen to a word I had to say. Eventually, my wife who speaks Mandarin appeared on the scene, and the issue was resolved, or so I thought.|During the 4 nights we were there, we had to ask for drinks, for plates to be taken away, and we were generally made to feel unwelcome. On our final night, a Chinese couple appeared on the scene, and the staff were eager to fawn over them, offering drinks, and rushing to refill their glasses. |The lounge staff were lazy, and rude. Never again.|Additionally, the room was dusty, and in need of vacuuming. My daughter dropped something on the floor, and in looking for what she had lost, she became...
