We went back to Changfeng as our really pleasant experience last year (around the same time) at this J.W. but this time we faced several disappointments; during check-in we asked the receptionist we'd like to have an executive lounge without upgrading our room and she said we won't enjoy the executive lounge as it's too many people during this Labour Day holiday. The receptionist also said she has upgraded our room, turned out it's on the 29th floor looking to the west... soon we entered the room, the air-con was too hot 28C (looking to the west) and we asked the receptionist to cool it down - we immediately walked out of the room with a hope maybe there's some adjustment needed. then, we're back around two hours later with a hope the room will be cooler - and it's not - and we realized no hot water. in the evening for the repairment came to check it - the same person did open the window, as the solution of air-con couldn't be adjusted per room during our stay our cards didn't work three times that we were locked out from the room and needed to line up (as it's busy days) to the receptionist to activate it OF COURSE, the most embarrassing thing that J.W. could have is; lining up for more than 30" to get seats at the restaurant to have breakfast...even we saw so many empty tables at the restaurant second morning of our breakfast time, after the greeter showed us where to sit (mind that we were waiting for +/- 30"), I asked a table attendant to clean the table and she used a very damp stinky cloth...and left. I called another waiter to clean one more time and gave us cutleries and nervously he took the same damp stinky cloth and gave cutleries without plate or tissue...
If this is only a normal 3* stars, we wouldn't mind, but J.W. is the 5* and could do better in arranging or accepting their guests' capacity during busy holidays and managing and TRAINING people (in the restaurants/ receptions/ etc) - definitely. And, yes, we were very surprised and...
Read moreFirst hotel I have checked into without been handed any registration form to sign. Later discovered my hotel rate should have had a rmb 200 food voucher. After 2 hours the exec lounge staff confirmed that this is correct. Not feeling happy about the delay I decided to go to my room and work and order room service but was told told that the voucher is jw hotel policy I cannot use the voucher for room service. This in my 20 years of travel was a first and not what I would even expect from a cheap hotel not to mind the Jw Back to the exec lounge and again the debate starts about the jw rules I showed my booking and the voucher rules did not state I had to eat in any particular restaurant and it was simply a voucher to use in the Hotel Finally I was told the r&b manager said ok to order to room. Read moreI stayed 9 nights for business trip at this hotel, it was a good stay experience, the hotel is New & Clean, very good property & maintenance, Stylish & Luxury, and very good location which facing a Park directly. food and lounge service is good, if you're elite memeber. I need to mention the poor bell service, which the door bell man just pull my luggage out of taxi, and put it out of door, let me handle it. I know they're busy with the Guests who's taking the Taxi, for someone said they get tips from both Taxi driver & Guest, that's why they focus on departure guest other than arrival. Check in service makes me feel cold and not elite memeber supposed to have at all, the staff will leave me alone after check in, I have to took my luggage in lobby looking for elevator, in general hotel like JW Marriott should have staff show me until the room, at least in other countries.
