I traveled with a friend to Shanghai for a trade show and booked accommodation at the LDF All Suites Hotel. I read a lot of mixed reviews about this place from other travelers on TripAdvisor as well as other booking sites. I was a little skeptical initially, but I thought I'd take a chance considering the great deal I got (about 400USD for a Executive Suite room booked 45 days in advance). Also, this was comparatively closer to the Expo Center with the other hotels in the price budget and also rating.||||Well we finally landed at the hotel. We got a room on the 21st floor and we were extremely happy with the room quality. It was a large room with a large bathroom. The room had a Kind Bed, a Seating Area, a balcony with a superb view from the 21st floor. I must make specific mention about the carpet and furnishings as I see other travelers have rated poor on this front. I presume they are restoring the rooms and furnishings and we got a room with a very clean carpet and the interiors and furnishings looked new and recently done up. The bathroom was huge and had a bath tub and a shower area. ||||The hotel is located in a place where there is no activity after sunset, like shopping malls, entertainment etc. However there is Sports Bar and KTV right below the hotel and we really enjoyed a quiet evening over beer at the bar. There are also a few massage centers just next to the hotel and they look upscale and classy. If you are looking for a fun evening and would like to be in the midst of some action, I think you could take a 15 mins taxi ride to Nanjing Road which I believe is about 7 Kms from LDF. The hotel is quite far from the Airport (about 40 Kms) and the Shanghai South Railway Station is about 22 Kms.||||We did not try the breakfast or order any food at the hotel, so cant really comment on the food part. There is a street food joint run by a couple. They setup the joint every evening and we really relished the food there. If you stay at LDF, and if you are on a budget and need alternate options, or would just want to try local cuisine, I recommend you try this place out.. you will find them just outside the hotel on the road side after sunset.||||Finally, the hotel staff were friendly and willing to help. Some of them were able to communicate in decent English as well.||||Overall a luxurious stay and we had sound sleep all the three nights we stayed at the hotel. I would definitely stay again the next time I...

If you are thinking of getting a cab, be prepared to wait 15 to 30 mins. Make sure you get the cab number from the front desk or risk someone jumping in without you knowing and you will have to wait longer. Just be prepared if you are going to the airport and make sure you wait the entrance and not the lobby. No one will let you know when your...
