If you want a good and affordable hotel for your Shanghai trip, this is a very good hotel to book. The staff are very helpful and accommodated all our requests starting from airport pickup to extra pillows, and everything you can think of. I had a problem with my WeChat account and they even accommodated my request of communication via iMessage. They send a message for the details regarding Disneyland shuttle to and from the park so you will not be lost. They provided us daily with water bottles, as much as we would need. The breakfast buffet had plenty of options and the menu varied each day. There’s dumplings, congee, cereals, bread, chinese dishes, noodles, eggs, yogurt, and fresh fruits. The dining staff were very cute aunties and always made sure we were enjoying the food. Communication is easy as long as you have a mobile translator, and the front desk staff know enough english to communicate efficiently. Knowing some mandarin will help greatly during your stay. It’s a plus that it’s only a few minutes walk to the metro and a shopping mall with plenty of dining and shopping options. The surrounding area also featured supermarkets and different local restaurants as well as bakeries. It’s not in the city center which me and my family enjoyed since we like immersing in the local scene versus being surrounded by plenty of other tourists. Every major tourist attraction is accessible via the metro so the commute was convenient. On our last night which was New Year’s Eve, they gave us a complimentary foot soak with herbs in the room which was very relaxing. Upon checkout, they even gave us a gift of local snacks. It was an overall very pleasant experience. Highly recommend this hotel! I forgot to take photos of the hotel but the photos on their profile are accurate. I just attached a photo of one of my breakfasts...
Read moreOur stay at this hotel was completely unplanned, a product of missed flights and the need to await the next available flights. My frame of mind when I arrived at this hotel was not positive but changed immediately thanks to the attitude of staff. Several staff poured out of the hotel when our cab pulled up. They wrestled all our bags into the hotel, showed great concern for one member of our party who was experiencing severe back pain and handed all of us cups of hot tea. The staff had limited English skills but were masters of Google translate. Rooms were small but adequate and modern. Complimentary breakfast was a combination of Chinese and Western food served buffet style and quite tasty. Shanghai Disneyland, which we never planned to visit was a mere 15-minutes away (RMB40 cab ride). A cab driver attempted to overcharge us for our trip back to the hotel from Disney and hotel staff quickly came to our aid. It was awe inspiring watching a diminutive desk clerk tearing into the cab driver. Our fare was quickly adjusted to what it should be and the clerk took a photo of the cab which presumably bodes ill for the cabbie. We took advantage of the the hotel's shuttle to Pudong Airport...also relatively nearby. Staff provided everyone with a bagged breakfast before the shuttle bus left! My only criticism of the hotel was the room temperature...I would like to be able to make the room much cooler at night. I'm not sure I would stay here except for proximity to Disneyland and the airport but the hotel is completely adequate and the service exceptional. If the location suits your needs I have no reservation...
Read moreI stayed here 2 nights due to a layover in Shanghai, and needed a cheap hotel close to the airport. ||||+ The rooms are very clean and really spaceous and comfortable. I found it to be really clean too, and the bed to be large and comfortable. The staff was (even though their English was limited) really nice and attentive. They have an airport shuttle, which might be hard to figure out, but the staff was friendly in trying to help me get back to the airport, and it wasn't a problem in the end. ||||- If you plan on doing something touristy (or even remotely fun) outside, don't stay here. It's located in a small town area, without shops/restaurants/malls around, so there's nothing much to do outside around the hotel. The breakfast is nice, but mainly Chinese food. The breakfast area is also pretty small, with one cramped room (with no AC), so it would get a bit loud and crowded there. ||||Overall, I thought it was a great stay, definitely worth the money. It was convenient, comfortable, and perfect if you just need to stay one or two nights in Shanghai before heading to the airport again. I highly recommend it as a budget...
