The Qube Pudong — Hotel in Shanghai

Excellent located hotel 15 minutes by shuttle from Pudong airport.||Ideal if you need to catch a late flight and like to stay near the airport.||Later checkout is possible till 2PM (free of charge), a later checkout (till 6PM) can be purchased at RMB 300 (date 10/2019).||||We stayed at the 18th floor, Club Level and I must say the room are spacious and comfortable.||The bed was stable and solid and decent pillows resulting in a good night sleep.||The hotel offers a few (buffet restaurants) but right next door is a big shopping mall that also offers a wide variety of restaurants at the food court (level -1) so worth checking it out before ordering room service.||||The gym was good with all your basic equipment, towels and water.The changing rooms can use a little bit of love and care and for some reason all sauna’s (wet and dry, male and female section) were out of service with no clear explanation given.||||Friendly and professional staff so if you are in need of a hotel near the airport, this would definitely qualify as a good one.||||Small remark for the breakfast staff.. cleaning a table does not mean you just swipe the leftovers and crumbs from the table onto the floor… noticed a few spots at the breakfast area that were in need of thorough sweeping.||||Ending with the fact that the (free) shuttle service to the airport provided by the hotel was excellent. They have busses incase or larger groups but since it was just me and my wife, they brought us in a private luxury car which was a nice touch. Thank you and hope to see you...

Let me share my experience today in this hotel. I was on the 18th floor going to the ground floor to have my breakfast. A manager (perhaps?) and what I think was the receptionist came in with me in the elevator. We picked up a few more guests along the way down, then suddenly, the elevator stopped.

There were a few moments that the elevator would free fall and would abruptly stop. Everyone was screaming while I stand anxiously on the corner, trying to brush off the temperature which increases at an uncomfortable level minute-by-minute. To add to this, everybody inside were local and speak in their native tongue while I try to silently decipher the gravity of the situation through their body language and the intonation of their voices.

Luckily, the manager and the receptionist speak very fluent English and assured me that everything is going to be okay. I even joked about me missing my breakfast as they stop serving it at around 10am.

Long story short, after about 35-45 minutes inside, we were rescued and hotel staffs were waiting outside with refreshments and wet towel. They were very apologetic.

The receptionist?, then followed me through the mess hall and offered me to still have my breakfast even if it is past 10. They offered me food that are not served in the buffet. They were apologetic still and I keep telling them that it is okay.

This is my second time in this hotel with my wife, very nice to be back there. The receptionists are very attentive. I thank everyone there for their attention. Great location. Easy check-in effort with friendly staff. Room was clean and well-maintained.The experience at this establishment surpassed all our expectations!
