This review is solely meant for the spa on level 3 inside the hotel. Decided on a 2hour body massage but it was so bad that i had to stop the massage before the time was up. The masseuse was extremely unprofessional and inconsistent in her massage technique as she was using her mobile phone during my massage. Only realise it when i had to lie on my back for the feet massage. Plus she coughed over me twice and didn’t bother to practise any hygiene sensibility or apologise. Literally the worst massage i’ve had to date. The spa environment was also not relaxing and soothing. It is located next to the fitness centre and you can hear the sound of the fitness machines when in use. Would highly recommend Yilin Blind person massage just 2 streets behind the hotel if you want a real pressure point massage.

Love the size of the hotel rooms. They recently renovated the rooms. Although nth much has changed, I appreciate the electronic blinds/curtains which were upgraded with an electronic switch that is much more visible. U used to have to really look around the room to find the switches for the curtains/blinds . They have also changed the beds’ headboards and reading lights, to a much more modern and sleek design. Front desk service is not consistent as not all staff serve with the same standard of service. Overall , they are pretty good. In addition, I also appreciate the variety of tv/movie channels available in the room! Good sized bath tubs and shower area. Love it! Do be careful of slippery toilet floor as the marble flooring and dim lighting makes it difficult to see water on the floor.

I had an amazing stay here. Room service was phenomenal especially the oriental breakfast that they serve and everyone always greets you in the corridors, hold the doors, helps you with the luggage at every possible encounter without a second thought. Rooms are modern, clean, bright, spacious and sanitised well and choice of pillows are available to suit everybody's needs. Plenty of charging points in the room. Supermarkets and a mall right right next door so that was very convenient. The receptionists were all very helpful and check in was speedy, which was a huge plus point for me personally. Very highly recommended since the location is right smack in the hub of shanghai.

Disgusting dirty rooms, stayed here recently on a business trip, the room I was given smelt of stale oil, probably from the previous guest having a massage. The carpet was stained with some oil also. The cups in the rooms had food stains on it and wasn’t washed properly. The bed was super hard and wasn’t comfortable at all. Pillows had a sweaty stench and when I took out the cover saw brown patches on it. The iron left black marks on my shirt and when I looked under the iron saw black burnt marks all over the bottom. Room service was bad, portion was small and food was cold and the cutlery had left over food stains and wasn’t washed properly, really disgusting! When I told them about it they didn’t even know what i was talking about as most of the staff don’t speak English. Their breakfast buffet is a huge disappointment, food was like left over from the previous days dinner buffet, while eating my scrabbled eggs I saw a small small fly in the eggs and informed the manager, I was shocked by his bad attitude, he told me that this can’t be helped and flies sometimes drop into the food and that I should accept it, and he is supposed to be a manager, he said all this in an unfriendly cold manner. The food manager is clueless and instead of offering an apology I felt he had a bad attitude and was arrogant. Their staff in general are rude. At check out, the lady attending to me was inpatient and spoke in a really loud condescending tone and was really cold. I will never stay at this hotel again when I return on my...

Do not stay here unless you like disgusting dirty rooms, stained carpets and stinky bed sheets. Came across clumps of hair and carpets stained with oil. My company puts me here whenever I’m in Shanghai and have stayed here 3-4 times since borders opened and thankfully I’ve gotten them to change my hotel on my next visit. Their food is also dirty and has hygiene issues. I had ordered food from room service and twice found hair in the food and in the buffet breakfast found plastic cling wrap in the museli and bit on a stone from the salad. I had informed their manager and he was insistent that their staff did no wrong and I was to blame. I’ve reported this to my company and thankfully on my next visit to Shanghai I won’t have to stay in this horrid hotel. They really do not care about hygiene and guest welfare, rather they show bad attitude and arrogance towards their guest. Also around the hotel there isn’t anything of interest, there is a dead mall, I was there on a weekend and the aircon was off and the whole place was stuffy and hot, the lights were dim and saw less then 10 people in the mall. Avoid this hotel! There is much better hotels...
