Stayed here on the last night of our recent China trip, just to have a place to sleep and get breakfast before our flight back to Australia.||Like other Urcoves, they’re happy to take your booking as a Hyatt Globalist member but then don’t care about providing any benefits. At least the property is relatively new and the hard product feels quite similar to your standard Hyatt Place. Nice wooden floorboards in the room, comfortable bed, aircon working so so which seems to be acceptable in China but I can imagine this being hell in the midst of Summer.||No word of English spoken by any of the staff but I managed with my limited Mandarin and paying cash (again, no American Express at UrCove). Zero acknowledgment of status, zero upgrade like in previous Urcoves we’ve stayed in. Location of the hotel is unfortunately pretty awful, no space outside for your DiDi or taxi to stop properly so both on arrival and departure we had to rush to get our luggage out and into the car on a busy road, on our departure in pouring rain. Speaking of road- there’s actually another road, one of those ugly concrete motorways, right above the road so from many room you’d stare right into it. So staring into a dark inner courtyard, like we did, was almost a plus!||Finally, despite of some of the much nicer looking photos upthread, during our visit the breakfast was a total nightmare, one of the worst hotel breakfasts we’ve had in a long time. Hardly any staff, a fight to get a seat and most food on the buffet not replentished forever. It was super messy and seemingly unhygienic so we left without eating at all. Very much the exception in China, even other Urcoves handled this much better, but to speak about the proper Hyatt hotels...
