Holiday Inn Express Shenyang North Station — Hotel in Shenyang City

Read up about the reviews prior to booking of the room. However things weren't as per what majority of the 'good' reviews had stated.

I should say the room was of a certain standard still as per IHG. When i got into the room, there was a particular spot that was very hot. It was situated right at the phone and alarm clock area.I was thinking probably it was due to the heating effect from the air condition but however to my dismay it was not. as the room was just behind the big lighting signage of 'Holiday Inn Express' i reckoned the heat was generated from that. Tried turning down the room temperature but still it did not help with the situation.

I would have to bring up the in-room dining quality as well. The food ordered was Hainanese Chicken rice. when the food came, the rice was specially hard and it tasted extremely dry. As i don't have any other alternative for food ,left with no choice but to just 'swallow' what i ordered.The feel of the rice was as though it was preheated up again just to be served.

Internet speed and connectivity were horrendous and i couldn't help but to get local sim cards just to tether for my computer usage. Any customer that wish to wind down and catch a good programme can forgot about it as most channels were from local TV and you will not have much...

The hotel staff, especially Catherine and Gloria, went above and beyond to provide amazing customer service and attention to our family. We are forever grateful and lucky to have chosen to stay at this hotel. We suffered a medical emergency and the hotel staff responded immediately to call the ambulance and direct them to the room. Catherine and Gloria assisted us with translations and exceeded my expectations by getting us in contact with person at the hospital. We don't know what we would've done without their genuine concern and assistance. They treated us with warmth and hospitality as if we were like family. Words can't express how amazing they were!!! Just came back from a short trip to Shenyang where we choose this hotel.Being used to Holiday Inn it's right to say that we already know what we find.The room and bathroom were ok, clean but some amenities missing like the small fridge and iron.Location is good, the hotel is on a quiet street, next to it you have a supermarket and also some small restaurants.Breakfast was with enough choices and WIFI was working properlyt.Not far from the city attraction, but still you need to take a taxi.The downside of the trip was the service from the staff.Despite the fact that they can barely speak English, any requests coming from us were treated with no help or compromise without any explanation.My opinion is that they should really improve their customer service.This being said we will not book another time this hotel since there are a lot of places to choose...
