Shenyang Marriott Hotel — Hotel in Shenyang City

The hotel architecture is absolutely beautiful. Anywhere I walk within the hotel is spacious, modern and really just gorgeous. I definitely wished I could have stayed longer - the bed and bathtub themselves were beyond cozy. The swimming pool is crystal blue, open all year round, and kept at 28 celcius. Daily kitchen is located on the top floor with, again, beautiful architect and window views. Hospitality of the staff was well beyond also. As soon as I arrived at the hotel, the attendant lead me out of my taxi and insisted on carrying my bags, while more attendants kept opening doors for me and leading me to the front desk and then to my room. They explained everything while in my room too. The front desk lady offered me late check out right upon request. My overall impression of this hotel was great, just like how a typical Asian Marriott should be. The pre-stay and post-stay surveys were definitely a plus, and I appreciated the suites I was upgraded into as well. There were some minor cleanliness issues but it was promptly take care of and I appreciated the follow-ups from MOD Michelle (not only during that same stay, but during my next stay as well - nice touch). That said, breakfast food quality and service needed improvements pretty badly (team, bottom line is please don't have a full blown argument in front of your guests), and the lounge needed more staff to keep an eye on stock levels outside happy hour. Overall I'd call this hotel great by Marriott standards, and with some minor improvements this has potential to be THE Marriott property of Shenyang (not like there were many competitions to...

Worst stay I had in a while. AC was either broken or hotel was trying to save electricity by not turning central AC on. Checked in 10pm room temperature was 27C. Tried to adjust AC to lowest and after 2 hours it was still 27C. Called front desk to complain and was told they will send someone to check. Instead a guy brought in a fan. I called again and ask if I can just move to another room and I was told they will send another guy to check. I also asked if there is a problem with the AC and they told me I was the only one complaining. Woke up in the middle of the night and temperature was 28C. Next morning I went to the gym and temperature as also hot. Breakfast area was the same. Just horrible experience. I rarely write a review.
