I just got back from a trip to the Usa and lost my apartment keys there so I needed a place to sleep till I could figure out how to get into my home. So I looked for hotels to sleep for a day or two and choose the ibis. ||||Thankfully the driver who picked me up at Pudong airport knew where it was and brought me there. ||||For $37 a night I was okay with it as I was exhausted and pretty much needed a safe and clean place to shower and sleep. ||||Ibis fit that requirement. Check it was simple. Passport and 275 rmb. No deposit. ||||Room was very clean and so where the sheets and towels. Equipped with a nice sized tv but only Chinese channels. Bed was queen size and comfortable with ample pillows. ||||Shower was hot and there is body soap shampoo inside. Some amenities. Water. Toothbrushes. Soap. Slippers. Tp. Ample towels and a floor towel. Water boiling machine. ||||The hotel has a pay washer and dryer. They offered a breakfast buffet but I passed and walked over to the Burger King instead for a 10:30am Whopper. Family Mart and a fruit store close by also. ||||Subway stop on the corner. ||||They gave me an extended check out till 7pm for an extra 137.5 rmb. It was worth it. ||||Computers in the lobby and ice available in the buffet area. ||||I’m happy with the Ibis and will recommend it and stay there again. ||||Thankfully I was able to get back in to my apartment...
Read moreThe hotel was easy to find, simply get off the Subway at Nanshi Street stop and head West for 2 minutes. The staff at the desk are nice and have decent English and the hotel is a 20 minute walk from some nice eateries and an excellent bakery, it is 40 minutes from the Harbour too which is fantastic. ||Besides that though the hotel itself was in serious need of reparations. |1) The Bathroom door frame was wonky so the door wouldn't close. |2) The Shower door was wonky too. |3) The Shower head is in serious need of either cleaning or replacing and it sprays to the side. |4) The wallpaper is coming off the walls. |5) The cleaners pick and choose when they clean and replace as opposed to just cleaning and replacing what they are supposed to. |6) There was a fist shaped dent in the wall next to the bathroom. |7) The floor hadn't been swept beneath the dent so there were chippings of plasterboard on the floor. |8) The toilet would splash your gonads or lady parts if you flushed it while sitting down.|9) The bathroom always smelt of cigarettes. |10) The floorboards were partially ripped. |11) You occasionally get gassed by cigarette smoke. ||With some reparations this would be a nice stay but as it...
Read moreHave just had to endure 18 nights in this place.||Firstly, I must say how good most of the staff were. Reception staff 10/10 always smile and most of them speak very good English (don't understand people who don't speak the local language slating locals for not speaking English, just rude!!)||My room was filthy, I have attached pictures to show the bathroom. ||There was 1 housekeeper who seemed to be working from first thing in the morning until late at night, poor girl must have to do the whole floor alone. My turndown service was good but general cleanliness/ maintenance was poor. ||In room massage - DO NOT GO FOR THIS SERVICE. 15 minutes into this all the girl wanted to know was how much I would pay her for "extra" service, I was appalled. ||On check out, the staff asked me to pay for some extra charges to my room (like breakfast) I paid but they also tried to charge me a further 350RMB of extra charges on a colleagues room WHO HAD ALREADY CHECKED OUT, unbelievable.||Safe to say I will not return to this hotel, great staff but let down by the clear poor management/...
