The staff were very helpful at check in and accommodating for me and my roommate arriving at different times. It was close to where I needed to be although very difficult to have a taxi drive up to the entrance as the opposite exit is blocked leading to a 10 point turn in a very cramped parking area. As far as the room and amenities go it was poor. The AC is very old and cannot control or change the temperature well, even on the lowest setting the room was uncomfortably hot so this was pretty bad as it was 38 degrees for most of my stay. I had many other friends staying in the hotel with a similar problem either too hot or too cold and so I didn’t see the point in trying to change to another room. There is very little light in the room only lamps and no main light so difficult to see clearly especially at night and cannot do make up etc. there is a big old fashion console next to the bed that is impossible to turn off with a bright green clock and the clock kept sounding an alarm every other hour and an ayi helped me to turn off the alarm only for it to continue. The light switches are very difficult to find how to turn on and off and the sockets for charging electrical appliances did not work at all except one very far from the mirror. My card for turning on the power to the room also rarely worked and I had to play around with it. When I asked to have it looked at I was told to just play around with it…. Bathroom also had a lot of other hair in it from previous guests. The price and location are reasonable but I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it — especially when the weather is really hot or really cold because the temperature control is terrible inside rooms. I give the staff a good rating but the condition and working order of the amenities a...
Read moreOur tai chi group stayed at the Meilian City Holiday Hotel for the second time in three years. The rooms we had in 2017 were generally clean. I also remembered the delicious breakfasts in the revolving dining room every morning. However, two years later I/we stayed in a filthy room with no option to change as the hotel was fully. The hallway carpets were dirty. I bitterly complained about the room condition and told the staff they barely offered a 2 star hotel. At one point two front desk staff came up to the street facing room to see the dirt on the floor and mildew growing by the A/C. This hotel desperately needs renovation! We were given an air filter machine for the room but I still slept with my face mask on. Unfortunately the air outside is polluted so opening the window wasn’t an option. I travelled three times to China in 1985 escorting American tourists when tourism was just beginning. Our rooms were cleaner then! I’ve been in China three times since 2017 and this was the worst hotel room I stayed in! In fact it was the dirtiest room I may have ever been in! I will only return if management guarantees that their rooms have been upgraded, thoroughly cleaned and refurbished. It’s central location is great but any traveler to Wuhan has other hotel choices. Beware the room you may be assigned! The only redeeming amenity: a sumptuous breakfast in the...
Read moreThe good points first:||||The reception was nice. In a streak of 10 hotels, this was the first time the receptiondesk was not disgruntled when i showed up early, because 'my room is not ready'. (as if i would even insist on a room when i show up early) they even gave me a different room that was ready, without me asking. So great work Amy.||||Now the bad stuff:||||The Room was supposed to be a none smoking room (as was even written on the door, but it stank like an old ashtray and the Noise from the street was audiable to the point, where it was hard to sleep.||||It seems that in the past this hotel had a spa (that was partnered with it). well this spa does not exist anymore, the floor is only a ruin including the Gym. I am unsure about the tenniscourt or the pool, both are closed off.||||Most of the stuff in the room was in disrepair or very old. the bed was so uneven it might as well be a globe, All in all, i would not with this on a prison inmate.||||All in all, this hotel has seen its best days long ago.||||And as mentioned above the only saving grace was the...
