We booked a 3-night stay here, and one of the main reasons was the indoor pool. Unfortunately this was out of service for the duration of our stay, something which might be worth mentioning on their website/beforehand (I was only told when I asked the receptionist after checking-in). The room itself was fine and a decent size (we almost had a little bit of view from the lake) except for the fact that it was uncomfortably warm and stuffy, especially at night. Even more surprising as it was pretty cool temperature wise when we were there. We tried opening the window but there wasn’t enough breeze and the mosquitos. The AC did not work seem to work, reception was notified and we were told a repairman would look at it. There seemed to be slight improvement in the second night but by the final night it seemed to have become as hot and as stuffy as the first (not sure how they would manage in the hot summer if it is like this in winter). Hopefully this will be addressed or it was only an issue with our room. The location is very good, next to a park and by the lake, less than a ten-minute walk from Hubin Middle Road subway station (take exit 2) or a short taxi drive to most places in town. You can also borrow umbrellas from the hotel, handy as it was raining for the majority of our staying. The hotel will also ask for a 1000 rmb deposit on arrival which should be returned to you after...
Read moreVery bad experience this stay at the hotel. This was my 4th stay here as I am at Accor platinum member. ||The hotel is an older hotel but is in generally good order. ||Chicken absolute disaster with no English-speaking people there took 20 to 30 minutes to get into the hotel My business partner was very ill and needed to get to the room quickly, and it was like pulling teeth watching this woman trying to check us in||The breakfast was among the worst I’ve ever experienced for a five star hotel in the world no orange juice had to beg for them to go to the bar to get a glass of orange juice. The bacon was not hot but cold straight out of the fridge. It was terrible.||The worst part of the day was the executive lounge||What a joke My business partner, and I had a lot of business to discuss as it was very warm. We were both wearing shorts and our legs were covered in bites. Two days later, we are still scratching, and our legs are red raw||They need to get their act together||Very sad to post such a negative review, but as I’m sitting here scratching my legs I have nothing...
Read moreThis hotel was fantastic, especially for the price. We were here in the off-season and I'm not sure what the normal price is, but we paid almost 1/3 of the price for a hotel of equivalent quantity just last week in Shanghai. The breakfast buffet was great, they have lots of options and have chefs preparing noodle and congee bowls on request. I highly recommend the Japanese restaurant here as well, some of the best meals we had were there. The pictures did not show it, but our room also included a large bathtub which was a big plus. We were working while we were here and there were plenty of comfortable places to work.My only complaint is that they allow smoking in the lobby and in rooms close to ours; this seems to be the case in other places we've stayed in China, but was difficult coming...
