Xiamen International Youth Hostel — Hotel in Xiamen

Good points:||1. Good location : located next to Xiamen university and the famous South Putuo temple. Many shops and restaurants nearby. Two main bus stations are within 5 mins walk from the hostel and u can go to almost anywhere of the city from these two bus stops. ||2. The design of the hostel is nice and the hostel is cozy and relaxing.||3. Very clean. ||4. The room is an ensuite where u get your own toilet and bathroom. ||5. I like their design that they separate the sink,toilet and bathrooms. ||6. Staff are helpful and friendly but can be more attentive sometimes. ||7. Good security ||||Bad points:||1. The staff at this place (especially the lady who was at the reception most of the time I was there) were extremely friendly, and the atmosphere was very relaxed with a great patio area outside for making friends and having a drink or two. The rooms were very clean, smallish but comfortable enough. The location is a little out of the way, but you can get a bus into the city centre or walk (20-25 minutes). Let's start with positive things - the location is quite good, easy to get anywhere and around there are many restaurants and shops; and the design is quite cozy, simple, and relaxing. However, unfortunately, more negative things took over - first of all, the private room I lived in was very dirty - huge clumps of hair were everywhere around the room, air conditioner constantly turned off, wifi frequently disconnected, in the toilet even no toilet paper. ||So I cannot surely say that about this hostel, but Xiamen city is highly recommended.
