The hotel was great and in particular I would like to note their lobby manager Davis’ service which was impeccable and truly exemplary. We brought two children on the trip and one is SEN, he lost his stuff toy after checking in between the time at lobby and on the way up to the room, we discovered towards midnight and searched everywhere to no avail. We ran into Davis at the wee hours and he went to great lengths to do checking and searching and after literally a blanket search he found it somewhere practically under the flower bed (probably kicked there by another tourist). He was really kind and helpful. The rooms were great, my kids adored the kids’ room which was adorned with a tent and rocking horse plus the towels & bedding etc were all panda-decorated. The playroom downstairs and go-kart were well enjoyed by the kids too. The adults’ room was very spacious and comfy (mattress was key) as well. Indoor and outdoor pools were nice, the outdoor heated mineral pool was especially great. Its location is at the doorstep of Qixingyan (the most famous place in town), and conveniently near Dinghushan (another key sightseeing place) by car too. Have been to twenty odd countries and this is the best hotel I...
Read moreMassive, massive facility! Lobby atrium is five stories tall — with ‘stone murals’ to match, scale wise. Attached conference hall. Lovely, lush grounds overlooking lake.||Room is equally gracious in size and amenities. Bed is large and comfortable. Bath has twin sinks, separate oversized tub, separate large shower, separate toilet room — and each w its own TV. In addition, there is a separate room with soaking hot tub — again with its own TV. Balcony is screened. Think we had 5 TVs in our room!||TV offers some 40 channels — and none in English.||Free, but unsecured, wi-fi. Reasonably fast.||Lobby Bar doesn’t exist. It’s a dark, closed room, and never opened. Juice bar was never staffed. Bar area in atrium has a fairly extensive menu, but in reality only had a bottle of Chevis and a bottle of Jack Daniel Black.||Meals in the Palace Cafe are always buffet. Usually crowded. Lots of choices, staff to bring utensils/clear tables, etc. Entertainment is swimming mermaids! Catered meals in special dining rooms were elegant and very well done.||Conference hall offers good facilities — including simultaneous translation and projection...
Read moreA very big facility in downtown Zhaoqing. Location is perfect, the iconic Seven Star Crags is right at the back of the hotel. Guests can walk out of the backyard right into the trek along the lakes. It was nice to have a walk any time. Despite the convenience, it was a very quite place. The room was spacious and well equipped, we could find all sorts of accessories and toiletries. It was also well maintained and clean. The Chinese restaurant was also good, and inexpensive. There was a convenient store on ground floor and it certainly helped when we wanted to get anything out of the blue. Staff was very helpful and friendly, making our stay comfortable. The only drawback was the crowd at breakfast. We stayed 3 days, over the weekend, and it was full every day, so much so we had to struggle finding a table. There was a line at every food station. Saving grace was that they refilled quickly enough and there was plenty to satisfy the...
