La Perla Negra - Black Pearl Eco-Hostel y Restaurante — Hotel in Antioquia

This place is pretty magical. There are two dogs and a white horse on the premises which really add to the appeal. The cabañas are so cozy and unique. I've never stayed somewhere so in nature. You can hear the sounds of nature all around you. It's also pitch black at night when you turn your light off which is pretty special. A friend and I stayed in the cabaña with a private bathroom which was really nice because we had the space to ourselves and we could just leave our toiletries in there.

The food is also AMAZING. The host is such a kind woman and the food she prepared was super fresh and tasty. Great vegan options! There also weren't as many mosquitos as I thought there would be. I brought a natural spray and don't think I got...

A very unique place! I got to spend a whole week there and enjoyed every day. The facility is beautifully laid out, the beds very comfortable, the team around Adrian, Ivan & Sandra are very nice, the food is excellent (the prices for it too!). For those who want to get away from Medellin for a few days or after a tourist trip to Guatape, this is the perfect place. If you stay a few days and have explored the magnificent river near the hostel enough, you will also find great hikes in the nearby area: Especially the hikes to the Cascada La Cazuela & to the Cascadas de la Honda are beautiful and possible without a tour on your own.||I hope I can come back one day :)||Thanks,...

San Rafael is such a beautiful place, it was one of my favorite during my trip in Colombia. The nature is breathtaking, there are waterfalls and rivers to swim in everywhere and the people of the village are really friendly and helpful. Our journey in San Rafael became definitely perfect with our choice of the hostel. La Perla Negra is a little heaven. You will find peace there and Adrian, the owner, will take great care of you :-) he is a wonderful host and cook. Moreover he took us on an amazing walk, where we had the chance to discover one of the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever seen. I recommend without hesitation.
