Maracuyá Hostel — Hotel in Antioquia

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Maracuyá Hostel in San Rafael, Colombia, and I cannot recommend it enough! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms by Farid and Juliana, who are some of the warmest and most genuine hosts I’ve ever encountered. Their hospitality made me feel like I was staying with old friends rather than at a hostel.

The atmosphere at Maracuyá is incredibly chill and laid-back, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The common areas are cozy, and the hammocks scattered around the property are perfect for enjoying a good book or just soaking in the peaceful surroundings. One of the highlights of my stay was the easy access to swimming areas in the nearby river. Just a short walk away, you’ll find pristine, refreshing waters to cool off in, surrounded by the lush natural beauty of San Rafael.

Speaking of the town, San Rafael is such a quaint, charming place filled with friendly locals. Whether you’re strolling through the streets or stopping at a local café, you’re sure to be met with smiles and good vibes. It’s the perfect destination for travelers looking to experience authentic Colombian culture away from the hustle and bustle of larger cities.

One thing that truly stood out about Maracuyá was the cleanliness. The hostel is spotless, with every corner well-maintained, which made my stay even more comfortable and enjoyable.

The hostel is located about 15 minutes walk from San Rafael town, it’s a great location for exploring the nature and swimming spots nearby.

The hostel is surrounded by trees and that makes it a good spot to watch birds in the morning. The Mountain View in the morning is just amazing.

There is a kitchen, a balcony and a terrace with ping pong table and hammocks.

The rooms are of decent size and clean, there are individual curtains for each bed, which offers better privacy.
