HOTEL MONACO REAL — Hotel in Barranquilla

We've been staying for carneval, and (own fault) did not check for safe areas before. This is definitely not. But as the hotel staff couldn't even speak basic English, we found ourselves walking through a very dangerous area, until a taxi driver told us it is not a good idea to be here. So not a place to be, grab a taxi to get everywhere.||The hotel itself is clean. Rooms are ok, but lack windows, and kind of comfort and a safe. Our shower was missing a shower head, there is also no hot water.||Do not expect to sleep in, there is no sound proofing, every word in the lobby is in your room.||The restaurant does not accept credit cards, and the bill can not be transferred to your room fee. It's really cash only although staff told us otherwise.||Wouldn't recommend going...

Nice staff, fast service, good breakfast and they were flexible with the time. Nice rooftop area to chill. But if you have health problems that get worse with humidity, do not book. Rooms have no windows and bed is hard like a rock. my knees got very bad, after only 2 days. Internet cuts off sometimes. Also, not the best location as there is nothing open around passed 7pm. Unlimited...

Mi experiencia fatal, siendo el día 21 de febrero de 2024 me aloje en dicho hotel, siendo las 12 de la madrugada se inició un incendio en el primer piso en un local de ropa . Oh sorpresa , no hay alarma de incendios, nadie del personal del hotel aviso a los huéspedes que se debía evacuar, ellos más bien abandonaron el edificio con todos los huéspedes dentro y siendo las 2 de la madrugada yo me estaba ahogando con el humo y como pude sin saber nada salí y ya afuera de mi habitación un señor que salía también sin saber me dijo hay que evacuar por incendio . Esto debería ser castigado ya que jugaron con la vida de más de 30 personas .. un policía que llegó me dijo que el le había pedido a la camarera que lo dejara ingresar a él para avisar a los huéspedes del incendio y ella le respondió, que estaba prohibido que el pasará del lobby hacia el segundo piso.. ojalá y alguien ponga en su lugar está gente irresponsable... No recomiendo este lugar.. lo digo yo y los más de 30 huéspedes que prometimos no volver allí jamás . Los pisos todos estaban llenos de humo. Dejo...
