I can’t believe some of the reviews I see here trashing Boyaca Plaza Hotel. If you’re looking to stay at a Ritz, don’t go to Tunja. However, if you’re looking to stay in Tunja and you want a very acceptable hotel experience, stop into the Boyaca Plaza Hotel. We stayed two nights to attend my wife’s family reunion nearby. The room is clean, good size with a chair, small table and a fridge (just like the photos). I don’t know what some people are looking for in an included breakfast, but fruit, juice, coffee and made to order eggs seems pretty adequate to me. It’s a great downtown location with free on-sight parking as advertised as is the very acceptable in-room internet. Another big plus is the staff; they are friendly and bend over backwards to fulfill you requests. I hate to say anything negative about the hotel, but they advertised speaking English, however when we checked in, the receptionist only spoke Spanish. This did not affect me, since my wife is Spanish and she took over the check-in. If she didn’t speak Spanish, I have enough confidence in these people that they would have figured something out to make it work. I would have them a full set of stars review, but I save that...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed in this hotel for almost two months from 14 September 2013 until 10 November 2013 and we look forward to returning. The hotel became our home away from home. ||||We got to know the entire staff including those on the desk, in the dining room, the kitchen and the room cleaning. Every one was always polite, professional and helpful. We also had the pleasure of getting to know the owners and their family. All very nice people.||||Breakfast was included with our room so we ate in the hotel dining room at least one or more times almost every day. Service was always cheerful and prompt and they accommodated our requests for meals not on the menu.||||Our room was thoroughly cleaned every day, including weekends and we had extra towels provided any time we asked. ||||We like this hotel and the people who work there and will stay there again the next time we are in Tunja. We highly recommend this...
