A square surrounded by beautiful historic buildings (well, for the most part anyways). The square is clean and gives priority to the pedestrian which is nice. However, the square could be conserved better. For context for those who do not know, Tunja was one of the most important cities during the colonial times in the Viceroyalty of New Granada. That is why it is so sad to see the state of deterioration of historic sites in the city. Hopefully, the government will do a better job of...

La Plaza de Bolívar de Tunja constituye el corazón histórico y simbólico de la ciudad y de Boyacá. Un lugar para visitar en Boyacá, fue renovada hace poco, sus casas coloniales te transportan al pasado, igualmente cpuedes contemplar la catedral, la casa museo del fundador cuya entrada es guiada y gratis. Tiene unos baños públicos que aunque limpios, no están al servicio de la gente y son muy pero muy básicos. Lo malo de la plaza de Bolivar es su llegada, antes estaba a pocas cuadras del terminal, ahora tendrás que llegar al nuevo terminal y tomar un taxi (un gasto adicional para una visita tan corta) pero si llegas en carro, los parqueaderos son escasos y costosos. Lo mejor , es la seguridad , podrás caminar muy seguro, tomar tus fotos y hablar por tu móvil por muchas horas sin miedo a que te lo roben.
