Hotel Casino Internacional — Hotel in Cúcuta

We have visited this hotel for 3 years in a row. It is in a nice central location in the city. The front desk staff are not helpful and seem to be confused and even annoyed when asked for assistance. We always book 3 suites for us and our family members. We book our rooms months in advance to try to ensure that we can stay in the same suites. Last year, none of our rooms were as requested. It was a disaster as we needed a handicapped room. The front desk claimed it was because we booked thru an agency. So, this year we booked directly with the hotel 8 months in advance. We checked periodically over the months and were told our reservations were exactly as we requested. When we arrived, we were told that our suite was under renovation! They moved us to the 4th floor into a much smaller suite. The blinds were broken and didn’t close properly. We heard street noise all night long! One night, there was some kind of party going on and the music shook the room until 4am! The jacuzzi tub drain cover was broken and I had to screw it in when I wanted to use it. I placed it on the top of the tub and it was never repaired. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get a WiFi signal inside the suite. We had to go out into the unairconditioned hall to try to pick up a signal. NOT GOOD! They do have a beautiful pool. We enjoyed it for a few days until a maintenance man arrived every day and started using some kind of loud machinery to work on the deck around the pool! NOT A RELAXING ATMOSPHERE! Then a soccer team arrived. They were in the pool daily doing exercise training. NOT GOOD! They left and another team arrived! They took over the entire pool. On the weekends they allow non hotel guests to buy passes for the pool and there are so many unsupervised children it is horrible! The breakfast buffet was good. The dining room staff were very friendly and helpful as eere the bellmen and pool service staff. I am afraid we will find another hotel for future...
