San Fernando Real — Hotel in Cali

We traveled to visit my daughter and her husband who are living in Cali. They recommended this hotel, as it is not only close to their home, but also a nice, clean place that is not overpriced. Our Spanish is limited, but many of the staff spoke good to excellent english, making our stay stress-free. ||We stayed in a lovely, clean room with a comfy bed. We were not disturbed by outside noises, which is a big plus (if you have ever been to Cali, you know that people can get a bit loud and rowdy at night!). ||One the night we called down to the desk to order food and they recommended a good place which had some of the biggest hamburgers I have ever seen in my life (poonto nuwevey I think was the place)--and yummy! ||The man at the counter when we checked out was very helpful, knowing the pesos to dollar exchange and explaining the bill. They arranged a taxi for us to the airport as our flight was extremely early in the morning. ||It was a very nice stay and we will return to the same place on...

We stayed in two different rooms. There was a power outage in the area and the hotel power plant was working badly. All the smoke from the Diesel power plant was entering the hotel and our rooms. We were only changed to another room in the fourth floor at midnight (after 4 hours of intoxicating with diesel smoke) and anger from us. ||Next, the a/c of one of the rooms was spilling water and our computer got wet. ||Another day one of the room was left without ding service, UNBELIEVABLE!! ||||Carpets are old, hot water on tub is unstable and changes temperature. Requested soap 2 different days and no soap on my room. ||||Bed was good, cable TV really, really suck, they need to change provider. ||||Staff is very polite, all but a reception guy, Andres at night, very rude. We sopke tot hotel Admin and got anything from them....meaning they don't value the customers, but only the hotel rate $$. ||||First and last stay in this hotel. my very first time staying across the street from the soccer stadium. be warned when the soccer teams play the streets are crowded with all types of people from all types of neighborhoods. when they wear red, that means wear blue or white. not GREEN.||||THE hotel features a cool small pool with great views. the location is near university hospital incase of emergency . they have a night club outside the hotel but they aren't affiliated , different owners but the interior is like a pirate ship, very nice.
