Our experience in Agua Baru has been truly exceptional. This is such a wonderful place, a true hidden gem. The location is stunning. The experience is unique. Really blending with nature in a unique way, with beautiful acquitecture and decor, in a place to unwind completely while being looked after for anything at anytime. The food prepared by its chef with fresh local produce is amazing and impecably served. The decor is incredibly comfortable and cozy. It reminded us of the trendiest spots in the mediterranean of bohochic luxury, while having the uniqueness of the Caribean acquitecture and setting. The team at Agua Baru is absolutely fantastic, so attentive and warm while leaving us space, intimacy and discretion. Our "Casita" was stunning. Plenty of space, multiple cozy corners to choose from inside and outside, and a private pool with absolute privacy for the ultimate experience. Same in the common areas. while Agua Baru only fits 20 people, it has common areas and different locations that can fit at least x2 that, which means that it is always available and calm with a sense of privacy. The gardens (wild landscaping yet incredibly maintained) and sorrounding areas are astonishing, not to mention the sea view to other islands and the lovely deck to relax top of water with the lovely see breeze. The estate has various areas (a lot of different spots to have dinner or relax) in pretty steep terrain. We loved to walk up and down the stairs, although there was a car always available to give us a quick lift whenever we wanted. We stood at top hotels during our trip to Colombia in Bogota, Medellin and Cartagena, and Agua Baru was by far the best one. Interestingly, with wasn't our Travel Agent's first recommendation for the area (recommended Sofitel - we checked it out and was not really a good fit for us as it seemed a bit impersonal and plain). We researched the area and came accross Agua Baru. We were at first hesitant due to the limited reviews, but loved the pictures so decided to give it a go. It was the best decission! This is not the standard experience hotel - this is truly a beautiful quasi-private estate served by an exceptional crew and feels like being hosted into a luxury home for a few days. My husband and I will cherish our time here. It reminded us of Mnemba off the coast of Zanzibar, where we stayed for our honeymoon - shoeless luxury in unique setting but far less expensive (still pricey of course). Completely open to nature and without some of the amenities in the standard hotel (eg no bath tub, no gym) yet for us the authenticity, exclusivity, comfort, bespoke service and blend in with nature is what really makes a luxury experience.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Agua Baru, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with stunning decor that created a truly immersive experience. The personalized service was unparalleled, available round the clock, ensuring every need was met promptly and with genuine care. Privacy was a highlight of our stay; it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves, with hardly a soul in sight. The breakfast and dining experiences were nothing short of exceptional, with a diverse menu served wherever we desired, adding an extra touch of luxury to each meal. One of the highlights of our stay was the included boat trip around the area. It provided a unique perspective of the surroundings, further enhancing our overall experience at Hotel Agua Baru. If you're looking for a secluded getaway with top-notch service and unforgettable experiences, I highly recommend this gem of a hotel.

We spent a couple nights at Agua Baru. I was skeptical based on the lesser number of reviews but this place is absolutely gorgeous. When we arrived , we were greeted with a much needed welcome drink to beat the heat. We stayed in Casita 3 which has a private pool and a terrace on top with a magnificent view. We didn't want to stay amongst the crowd and this place provides plenty of solitude.

Yohana helped coordinate our local experiences and was super nice. The kitchen was run by the chef Elkin and Kevin. The chef even went out of the way to prepare special dishes that were not on the menu. We were the only people on the property so that level of personalized attention was extra special. They even drove us for free to a nearby resort for one of our meals. The staff truly go above and beyond! This is a gem in Baru and is by far the...
