We stayed for 2 of the 3 nights we scheduled. The people was great (including the co owner, we had great conversations) the view was perfect looks like an island should look like. ||The sleeping was tough... feels like you are just camping outside, the walls are very thin and you hear everything. We could not sleep... night or day... during the day there’s a party on the water in front of the property. If you have the bottom room (we did) you will hear everything the upstairs neighbor is doing, I mean everything a couple might do! ||No hot water!||Power was on and off... not for long periods. ||The pool doesn’t have filters, you could not see the bottom of the pool, it’s 4-5 feet deep...||The food was bad/average.||The partygoers right in front of the hotel are loud, is like a disco from 10 am - 9 pm. ||If you are looking for an upgrade from camping this is it, if you want a hotel... this is not it, in my opinion.||We paid high price to be there and it wasn’t even close to what we expected. Read moreWe stayed at Playa Scondida for 3 nights and it was an amazing visit. The location is beautiful and peaceful, the dock provides an amazing view right on the water, and getting around baru and to Rosario is very convenient from there. Most importantly, the staff is incredible and makes sure it is a great time for all. We had a large group and Lucrecia and Sergio were so kind, welcoming, accommodating, and helpful. They treated us so well, suggested and facilitated great activities, and were just amazing about everything the whole time, from helping with bags, rooms, food orders, drinks, coffees, and even decorating and getting a cake to celebrate a birthday. The food was also amazing and the chefs are great. Breakfast is included and so delicious, amazing arepas and fruits and eggs, and dinner was so good too. They are even happy to find different ingredients or make the food however you would like. It is a great spot, and an especially amazing visit because of Lucrecia and Sergio....
Read morePlaya Scondida is not your average hotel. If you’re looking for luxury this may not be the place for you, however if you’re looking for one of the most personable and accommodating staffs who will go above and beyond to give you an experience of a lifetime then this is the place for you. My friend and I came to Isla Baru for one night and stayed with the hotel. The staff greeted us warmly and gave us what we needed to get comfortable. We had missed the time for the tour they offer around the Rosario Islands, however they accommodated us anyways and gave us a private boat with a driver to take us on our own personal excursion around the islands. We stopped at Isla Reyna which is a MUST SEE and also took us to fabulous snorkeling spots during the tour. Fernando, one of the owners of the hotel, seemed so invested in our comfort and happiness while we were here that it truly felt like staying with family. If you have the chance, Playa Scondida is a home away from...
