We enjoyed our stay at Palmarito Hotel. The accommodations are rustic and similar to staying at a cottage. The room was clean and had working AC. The beds are small and dated, it was a double and my husband and I are average size (I’m 105lbs and he’s 195lbs). It defiantly made for an uncomfortable nights sleep but we didn’t mind as we basically shared the resort with a handful of people max. The water pressure was basically just gravity and the wasn’t much warm water. However, if you are there to beach bum and relax you shouldn’t have any complaints. ||||The beach is really nice and the water is some of the warmest I’ve ever swam in. There are lots of activities at an additional cost such a jet skiing and kayaking. There are authorized vendors on the beach but they don’t hassle you nearly as much as the vendors on Bocagrande or Cartagena. It was a much needed escape for the hustle of the city with amazing views of Bocagrande. ||||The grounds of the resort are really nice with large harvest tables and benches. There are hammocks throughout the grounds and some seating areas under cute little tents. The compound is gated and it was not recommended to wander the island for safety reasons. I was a bit disappointed but I do appreciate their concern for our safety. You have access to the beach 24/7 and if you do go out in the evening we noticed an employee keeping an eye on us. So possibly not the safest island to explore. ||||There isn’t much for entertainment at night, but that wasn’t what we were there for. Just lots of relaxing and beach bumming. The staff were friendly and very very helpful considering we do not speak any Spanish and we were the only guests who spoke English on the resort. ||||All in all, we enjoyed our stay. Please be mindful that these resorts are on remote island with limited access to fresh water and electricity - there are rolling electricity black outs during the day. We came for the beach and the location and do not expect the same type of accommodations as North America. This place was rustic, yes, but the customer excellent and we are...

We stayed at the hotel trying to escape Cartagena. They offer day pass to people and it was horror!! The night at the hotel was expensive and we had a bad time: 1. The entire hotel was more crowded than they could possibly hold. The pool couldn't fit one more person. 2. There are no dedicated beds or chairs for guests at the pool or on the beach. THERE IS NO PLACE FOR GUESTS!! How can they reserved beach beds for day pass and not for hotel guests????? 3. Food takes 90 minutes 4. The color of the sea is just like in Cartagena 5. Avoiding sellers in Cartagena? Haha here you have even more: massages, jet ski, bracelets, etc etc 6. I’m Colombian, I like music, but it was sooooo loud 7. I got a wrong order, I told them: I didn’t order the lemonade. I had an argument with the waiter, who started arguing, instead of accepting that I never ordered that. I didn't even touch the drink. At the end the manager came and in 3 seconds he apologized and everything was fine at the end. 8. The sheets were stained and had hair. The soap dispensers were empty. I’m giving one star on top because some guys from the hotel tried to help us and they were kind. But please please please your hotel guests have more priority!!! Accepting so many day passes is making this place just horrible

Beautiful resort island that you can reach by boat from Boca grande beach behind the old hospital. If you reserve the day pass on their website you will be treated to a free cocktail and lunch buffet. More drinks are extra but they are very generous with the booze and you only need a couple to get a good buzz going. Food is fantastic, they had fried fish, patacones, some kind of sweet pork dish, salad and of course fries. Comes with free use of the beaches, the pool, hammock area, tables and chairs and seating areas. All you need to really bring is yourself, some towels and maybe some sun block and whatever toiletries will make you more comfortable (wet wipes/hand sanitizer. Bathrooms are kinda gross but it's by a beach what do you expect?). The speedboat ride is really quick, only takes about 10 minutes to get out there and then you could spend the whole day relaxing. Boats start leaving Boca grande about 8:00am and the return trips start around 3:00 pm with the latest you can stay being about 4:30. There's a night tour too that I guess is more geared towards adults and alcohol.

No prestan toalla.
