Jenené Lodge | Vista al mar y Ballenas — Hotel in Chocó

We had the best time at Jenene Lodge! From even before we arrived Oliver was in contact with us to confirm our flight details and to ensure he met us at the airport. Oliver was fantastic, he spoke perfect English. We took a short walk to the boat, Oliver and the team carried our bags which was lovely. The boat was pretty much brand new, very clean lifejackets. It took about 45 minutes to get to the lodge, all the while Oliver was being friendly and speaking to us, he made us feel very welcome. We arrived at the lodge and was met by Raul, a very friendly co-host. We were given one lunch on arrival which was very much needed. We are very fussy eaters and the team at Jenene did their very best to accommodate our needs and we had a fabulous breakfast, lunch and dinner every day! We went to our room which was really clean and just perfect, we had electricity, water and wifi- what more could you need. We did a number of tours and was accompanied by Oliver, he was fantastic company translated pretty much everything for us and we learnt a lot about the area and the nature. Definitely some highlights were the baby turtles being released into the sea as well as going out on the boat and seeing the whales, they were truly magical experiences! We did a few other bits such as canoeing, surfing, visiting a waterfall, going to the hot springs. There was a lot to do and it was very relaxing, so nice to feel at one with nature. The accommodation was perfect, we looked at a lot of other places in the vicinity and Jenene was the most luxurious, a very pretty location. One thing I would say would be to bring quick drying, microfibre towels for the beach and for any excursions. We really had the best time there, the team were fantastic, welcoming and accommodating. Oliver was the best, so helpful. We had a bit of an issue with our flight going back and Oliver was on hand to help us get it sorted. Thank you so much to the entire Jenene team for our stay. What a paradise! Welcomed by whales giving us a private show, beautiful beach and great walks through the jungle where we got to see plenty of wildlife (howler monkeys, toucans, parrots, iguanas and much more)! With the sea at 30 degrees Celsius we didn’t spent too much time inside, but nevertheless, all possible luxury was present in the cozy but spacious cabañas! Cell phone coverage is challenging, but nicely solved by starlink internet on the entire property! 3 wonderful meals per day! (Liking fish is highly recommended, as the place is so hard to reach - hence the paradise - that what you eat is what is available! Had some of the best fish-dishes nevertheless! Desde el momento en que he abierto mis ojos en mi amplia y cómoda cabaña, rodeado de exuberante vegetación, siento la magia del lugar. El aroma fresco del océano se mezcla con el dulzor de las flores tropicales, creando una sinfonía olfativa que te revitaliza. 🫀

El desayuno, preparado con ingredientes frescos y locales, es un festín para los sentidos. Frutas exóticas, jugos naturales y café colombiano me han dado la energía necesaria para explorar, pues en #Nuquí, las opciones son infinitas. 🛶⛰️🦜🌿🦎🍃🌊〰️

Saborear esos almuerzos que se sirven con vistas al mar, permitiéndome disfrutar de la brisa marina mientras deleito platos frescos, muchos de ellos a base de pescado y mariscos recién capturados. 🎣

Cuando el sol comienza a descender, el cielo se tiñe de tonos naranjas, rosas y violetas, creando unos atardeceres espectaculares que me ha dejado sin aliento. La cena, bajo el manto estrellado y acompañado del sonido de las olas, es una experiencia íntima y memorable. 🫶🏼
