Hotel Oicatá Ltda — Hotel in Duitama

The hotel is very close to everything in the town just two blocks away from the main Los Libertadores square. So everything is within a walking distance. The hotel staff ate so kind and welcoming. One of them even helped me find a Spanish teacher 😉. The service is not excellent but good enough. The food is okay too. But there are things that bother u if u live one month here. I had to change my room because of the broken shower tap but the room they offered had a worse tap. That is they don't check utilities frequently. I was living on the fifth floor just below the restaurant. When cooking meals, u don't wanna be in ur room because of the thick smell of fried oil. They have some ceremonies there on weekends there doesn't let u have a good sleep if u don't wanna go out on a Sat night and just wanna get sleep. The laundry is very expensive. I had five trousers and several shirts and t-shirts washed and ironed that cost me 70 thousand pesos at the end of the month. Think twice before having ur laundry done here. Aunque al buscar entre los hoteles mas recomendados de Duitama, te figura como hotel No 1, la verdad debe esmerarse por mejorar, si trayectoria hasta el momento lo ha mantenido pero definitivamente debe mejorar.||Por mejorar: Contar con convenio de parqueadero para los huespedes, el hotel tiene una bahia descubierta y que da al paso peatonal de la calle, lo cual no brinda seguridad a los vehiculos. La señal de television no es muy buena, no es nitida y no se ve muy bien. Si reservas por Booking tu reserva no figura cuando llegas, recomiendo realizar la reserva directamente en el hotel. Las instalaciones fisicas deben mejorar al momento de ingresar a la habitacion, la separacion del pasillo y la puerta que es en madera se desprendió y el closet tenia una puerta caida, opino que invirtiendo poco a poco para remodelar las habitaciones recuperaria su buen nombre. No tiene una señalizacion visual adecuada, deben renovar su fachada, hay tomacorrientes sueltos.||Aspectos a destacar: Es muy cerca de la plaza principal, cerca a comercio, restaurantes, discotecas, bancos. El personal es muy amable y dispuesto a orientarte si conoces la ciudad, aunque la ciudad es conocida por el frio de la zona de Boyaca el hotel ofrece muy buen cerramiento lo cual es agradable y no se siente frio. Ofrecen una bebida caliente a la llegada y hay habitaciones con un pequeño balcon lo cual permite salir y apreciar el transito vehicular y peatonal. Es un buen hotel en Duitama. Le falta bastante en materia de decoración. Demasiado lujubre el lugar. Deberían usar colores más claros para dar más iluminación. De amenities solo tienen jabón. La señal de wifi está bien pero la de tv no se ve muy bien. Las habitaciones son pequeñas pero acogedoras. Lo recomiendo como hotel de paso. El restaurante el almuerzo es muy bueno incluye sopa o fruta y postre a un buen precio y muy buena sazón. En la comida les falta un poco más especialización en cómidas ligeras.
