Hotel Unión Girardot — Hotel in Girardot

This hotel has the potential to be really great. It's a renovated property with all the amenities you would expect from a superior hotel. However, attention to detail is lacking in some areas like the swimming pool. There are loose tiles on the bottom that they have tried to repair leaving edges that are potentially dangerous. My brother got cut twice in two days with the edges and we saw one guest get cut and they had to call medical services. The lifesaver on duty was well trained and took care of the cuts and all the staff was beyond polite. Service was very good overall and the hotel is neat and clean. The food was average for a high price considering the location. As a result the restaurant was empty at all times but breakfast which is included in the price and was very good. I think they should revamp the main restaurant, cut the menu to the items that are good and yes, reduce prices, which are not reflecting the quality of the food. As for the rooms they are new and well equipped. I would come back, as this town doesn't have any other hotels...

The Hotel Union in Girardot is a superior hotel/resort located a few hours outside of Bogotá. Once, one of the most important port cities in the country, Girardot remains and active marketing town.||||The Union is a lovingly restored and renovated building from the early 1900's. It's in a nice section of the city, close to the river and is designed to isolate the guest from the outside world as much as possible. ||||Designed around a lovely large pool and patio terrace, the Union rooms and appointments are first class. The rooms have high ceilings, beds that are incredibly comfortable, soft linens and large spacious bathrooms with hot water.||||The "Station" restaurant has an extensive menu and is a wonderful place to take a dinner or lunch. Oh, the service level is almost equal to the physical property. It's not quite North America 5-star, but pretty close. ||||Had I known in advance how wonderful the Hotel Union was, I would have booked more nights in advance. You can disregard that one bad review. They didn't even explain their problems well. There's absolutely no complaint about this place by the second day of my 14 days most of the staff that I interacted with you my name. I made friends among the workers. They're also personable.||||The pool and it's the core or just beautiful they even have a kiddie pool very large. From bar on one side of the pool on the restaurant on the other side of the pool. You can have a balcony facing the street or one facing the pool. I prefer the street side because I can watch people going back and forth and motorcycles and taxis and cars and people going into the big park across the street period and but Cathedral is right down at the corner. and there's a weekend difficult a down at the end of the block only open Friday and Saturday night.||You can get bar and restaurant service at the pool.
