Casa Bambu is situated, along with a handful of other hotels, on a private gated road with security and no access for general public. It's a small place of just 8 rooms with a lovely pool and of course lots of bamboo surrounding the whole place. It's very peaceful, no music thankfully and only distant sound of the main road.|It's a 5 mins walk to two different beaches shared by the hotels. There's a great bar by one of the beaches overlooking both the wild sea and the river full of caimans. Great for sunset photos with a cocktail.||The hotel room was spacious with a comfortable bed, large bathroom and plenty of space for your things. There's a fridge and a safe. The detached rooms are quite close together so you can hear neighbours talking. The air con works surprisingly well given there are windows at the sides and back with just wooden slats and no glass.||The major disadvantage of the rooms is that they face onto a common walkway so there is little privacy. The large glass doors and small balcony face the walkway so you have to keep the curtains closed much of the time. A real design fault. Why not have the patio doors and balcony at the back looking into the beautiful bamboo which would afford total privacy??||The breakfast was very good and cooked to order. We also ate other meals here and all the food was very good.||The staff are very welcoming helpful and friendly.||Despite the privacy issue I would still recommend this hotel to anyone. It is in such a beautiful setting and close enough to...
Read moreWe had such a wonderful stay at Casa Bambu during our honeymoon. The food was delicious, as were the cocktails. The staff were really friendly and would laugh and joke with each other in the open kitchen, so it was always a pleasant atmosphere. The reception staff were also extremely attentive and helpful in recommending things to do in the area such as Tayrona National Park, some waterfalls, beaches etc, and arranging transport to get to them if you needed it.
The rooms were beautiful; extremely clean and the bed was comfortable. Our room also had a ceiling fan and A/C. You fall asleep to the sound of frogs, and wake up to the sound of birds, both of which are quite loud and did disrupt our sleep slightly, however it is heavily outweighed by the wow factor if being in the thick of it all and the stunning surroundings.
I highly recommend this hotel, I wish I was...
Read moreEverything at Casa Bambu was excellent. The Rooms, the food, the staff and the location. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back. Also for people who like to be in the Jungle with a Bungalow and are scared of animals like spiders etc. its perfect, because the bungalow has a net everywhere, also on the roof which was very helpful for me. Wonderful beach just in 5-10 minutes walking destination. There is no store really close by (15min to walk).
Something I would change is, that there would be a place where you can refil your water bottle — less plastic!!
Also there is a nice Yoga place nearby which I can recommend, Haile is a great teacher and I felt so comfortable to practice with her in the mornings at the beautiful Sierra Bar where you could see ocean and river....
