We stayed for three days in a stand-alone cabaña next to the pool, which was very spacious and comfortable. The property is well maintained, with daily pool cleanings and wiping pool chairs and wood. The service is also excellent and very friendly. Every meal was fantastic with excellent flavor and portion sizes.
There were several issues though, mainly dealing with the accounting and communication between themselves and third parties.
We had them book a taxi for us from Santa Marta airport to their property but when we arrived no one was there to pick us up. After getting our own taxi to the property, it was quickly clear that the notion of speaking both Spanish and English was not true, as we had to communicate in Spanish. Luckily I was with a native Colombian so this wasn’t an issue. Our last night the power kept going off for extended periods of time. When it was time to pay our tab during checkout , most of the bills that accumulated during our stay had incorrect orders on it, so we had to go through and itemize everything so we wouldn’t be overcharged. That same morning, we worked with reception to set up a round trip ride to Tayrona in the morning (while they held our suitcases), where we would be able to go the hotel across the road for showers afterwards then the driver takes us to the next destination. The driver said that was never communicated to him, so we had to quickly grab our bags and ride sweaty and dirty for an hour instead.
So, amazing place, amazing views, amazing food, but double check and double...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel for two nights in a beachfront bungalow. The location was stunning, right by the sea, and the pool was beautiful. The restaurant staff was very friendly, and with so few guests, it was a peaceful and quiet stay. However, the bungalow was very dark inside, and the air conditioning didn’t work properly despite the staff’s attempts to fix it.
What really disappointed us was the organization of a cacao tour through the hotel. Although the hotel staff told us the tour was organized, the taxi driver who picked us up had no idea where to go (we assumed he had all the necessary information, because he didn’t ask before starting to drive), as he hadn’t been given any information. After driving around aimlessly for five minutes, we told him to take us back to the hotel and still expected full payment. While we understand that the hotel was not directly responsible for the cancellation, the way the staff handled the situation was frustrating. There was no apology, and at first, they even expected us to pay for the taxi. Only after some discussion they reluctantly did cover the cost. To top it off, when we checked out, no one even said goodbye.
Overall, the beautiful location and peaceful atmosphere were overshadowed by poor service and disappointing...
Read moreThese are the positive and negative points based on on my stay: Positive: the property is so stunning, the room was big and luxury, it’s a boutique hotel with fantastic staff, the front desk staff were fluent in English and very helpful , beautiful semi private beach access, great breakfast, only 10 minutes cab ride to Tyrona national park Zaino gate. Negative: The only reason I didn’t give five star is that they left a Scent Diffuser in the room which I couldn’t find it till the next day. nonstop every ten minutes it gave out a horrible sweet smell that the next morning I had a migraine headache due to the terrible smell. The room was so clean, everything was new and fresh and there was a breeze from the ocean to the room, there was really no need to put a diffuser with such a bad horrible chemical smell in the room or I wish they would warn me about it so I could unplug it. I was so confused where the smell came from all night since I didn’t find the defuser till the next day and the from desk staff end their shift and leave the hotel before evening and don’t come back till the next day so I couldn’t ask them for help at night to see where the...
