Finca De Nosotros — Hotel in Magdalena

My boyfriend and I stayed at Finca de Nosotros for two nights. We could not have asked for better hosts. Thomas and Estella warmly greeted us at the airport and took us to their lovely bed and breakfast. ||The property itself was so peaceful and full of incredible mango trees, palm trees and included a lovely pool, two outdoor kitchen areas and multiple areas for their hammocks. The breakfasts were always made to order based on local ingredients and were very tasty! ||One night it was pouring rain so they made us a special dinner, which was lovely because it was too rainy to get out. They gave us great recommendations on what to see and even drove us to a less touristy beach, Inca Inca, which we loved! We also got to see downtown Santa Marta, which was not on our list, because they offered to take us there to see the downtown and boardwalk, which we were so happy to get to see! Lastly when we told them our next stop was Cartagena (a 5 hour drive) they offered to take us there for a very reasonable fee and were incredibly pleasant company along the way. ||Our room was nice and clean and a perfect size for two people. However there was also a bunk bed in our room so we could have easily fit four people. There is also washer/dryer at the place so we were able to do our laundry.||We highly recommend staying here as you will not only get a quaint and rustic place to stay but also two lovely hosts who will be happy to share some advice about what to see and do in Colombia. We stayed in a smaller, clean room for one night before heading deeper into the mountains and were very well received indeed. We were the only guests and were happy to get a break from the crowds and socialising of Palomino and Tayrona. The Swiss-Columbian couple running the finca were generous and very helpful picking us up when we arrived and even driving us to a bank the next morning. Cooking dinner in one of the large outdoor kitchens available to guests was a pleasant experience. It is possible to buy cold beer on-site which we did and forgot to pay for (sorry!🙈) The large well-kept property also has a beautiful swimming pool with built in bubble-baths that was definitely a highlight....
