I did the Cerro Kennedy 2-day tour and absolutely loved my experience. I felt fulfilled and appreciative to have experienced such a unique, authentic Colombian adventure. The entire trip was incredible private, just 3 of us in the group and no other tourists in sight.

Day 1: Carlos, our guide & founder of WiMake Tours drove us to a local farm where we learned about all things coffee. From there, he parked his truck and we started on a small, but steep 3km hike to his family farm - Finca Santa Elena. His mother welcomed us with open arms and made sure our tummies were continuously full. If you're lucky - you can catch the sunset.

Day 2: We woke up just before sunrise and was greeted by Carlos’ mother with a warm cup of coffee. This was one of the highlights - the view was absolutely incredible. After a very filling breakfast of huevos revueltos, arepas and pancakes we headed the 5km hike to the summit. The trek occurs on private land making it a bit more tough than normal for footing because it isn't traversed as often as usual trails. The first half was a steady incline and the second was quite steep. It was nice at the summit because it wasn't too cold or windy so we could stay up there for quite a while and marvel at the view. Carlos gave us a chocolate bar and granadilla fruit. Then, we headed back down to the farm where lunch with a celebratory beer was waiting. After lunch, we headed back down 3km to the truck.

I highly recommend this experience. You don't need to be tip-top shape BUT it will help. The hikes are short, but very steep. Bring warm clothes for the night and a good pair of shoes will help your descent. I only had a pair of trail runners, which thankfully had some grip but I would of loved to have had my full...

We tried a two-day Cerro Kennedy trek and it's an absolutely amazing experience. The path is challenging, but you walk through beautiful nature with many views. Our guide Leonardo was very helpful and adapted the pace to our possibilities. Accommodation in Finca Helena is authentic, Mrs. Anna is a friendly and helpful woman, we felt like family. Her son Fernando communicated with us before the trip, willingly explaining everything. It was the best experience of our monthly vacation...

Carlos and Tatjana made our trip to Columbia truly special: the tour we took with them (3 day trekking around Cerro Kennedy) was a blast: we stayed in their house/ finka up in the mountains, ate delicious food (of which most of it was self-cultivated) and had amazing views while hiking or watching the stunning sunsets and sunrises. Would definitely...

Incredible experience hiking with Carlos and learning about the people and nature of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Carlos's family was so hospitable and friendly as we stayed with them at their finca. I can't recommend enough this trip.
