The hotel is nice, clean and well equipped. The shower works perfect, temperature and pressure, something we have had to learn is not to be taken for granted in Colombia. Wifi works well. The staff is very cordial and helpful, no complaints about that. But the room we had booked was supposed to be a double deluxe and we paid for it as such, but actually it was really tiny. It was ok as we only stayed one night passing through Manizales, but the truth is that I can't see what was supposed to make it "deluxe" - do a working shower and wifi already qualify as deluxe? We paid 250.000 COP for that, which is really expensive compared to other hotel rooms which were cheaper and much closer to our definition of "deluxe". Still the worst part of Granada Plaza came really unexpected: We were fast asleep as suddenly extremly loud music blurted up from the reception, waking us up - we checked the hour and it was 5:45 am... loud music and yelling, which can be heard perfectly in the rooms as the stairway connects the whole hotel centrally. Is that really necessary at early hours of the morning? I thought people go to hotels to sleep and get rest, not to be woken up from the night guard/receptionist at 6 o'clock in the morning... and I read in other reviews here it's not the first time to happen... ||Conclusion: Nice, clean and comfortable hotel, but make sure to check beforehand if you get what you paid for and to have ear...
Read moreThe rooms with a window onto the street are really loud. If you choose an inside room, it's still very loud due to lack of soundproofing and has no window (so feels like a cell). The alarm signalling someone coming up the stairs finishes late and starts early, so you dont need an alarm clock. Also the doorbell rings until at least midnight. The bedsheets are not cotton, so very sweaty and uncomfortable. No aircon, just a noisy fan. Good shower and WiFi, and the room was clean. There is a sign on the door advising the fines you will be given if you mark any of the linens. They expect you to wait in reception, whilst the room and minibar are inspected...
Read moreI have stayed in many hotels, and this one in Manizales is among the best. The facility is clean and welcoming, with daily housekeeping and communicative staff. Internet speed consistently ranges between 45 and 60 Mbps. They also provide coffee and water.
I enjoyed my stay and the hotel’s quiet atmosphere. Two staff members, Estrella and Elsa, were especially kind...
