Since being in Colombia, I have not had the most pleasant stays at all of my hotels, needing to leave two hotels early because staff were so rude to me that I did not even care about trying to get a refund. The facilities are not perfect at Hotel Street 50, but from the moment I stepped in the door the man working the night shift was so unbelievably nice and welcoming that it changed my feelings of the whole country. Before, I was feeling very unwelcomed by how I was treated at previous hotels: not receiving service, being ignored at receptions with receptionists not even looking at me and serving gest that arrived after me, and getting dirty looks and headshakes and raised eyebrows because my Spanish is quite bad. The best part of my stay though was their patience with my Spanish: trying to speak slower, etc so I could understand. If you are looking for a budget friendly hotel in Medellin near the location of Hotel Street 50, I would recommend it wholeheartedly. I was upset I had to leave and miss the staff already.
