Was in Medellin for medical reasons and stayed at this hotel after being hospitalized in the Cardiovid clinic. The hotel is in a safe area, walking distance from a small strip mall and a major mall at La Mota. There also plenty of banks and restaurants available within a 15 minute walk.||||The room itself is a mini suite that can accommodate up to two people comfortably. It has a full bathroom and a guest bathroom. There is also a walk-in closet for your closet needs.||||A full kitchen helps cut down on food costs if so desired or you can do just the regular boiling water, eggs etc etc kitchen chores. A fridge is also available for your use. You can do some minor clothes washing in the available are and air dry them in the room discretely. Upon request you can borrow equipment to iron your clothes.||||The room is cleaned daily by the friendly cleaning staff and restocked. Fresh linens are also supplied daily.||||Given the nature of the hotel (medically oriented) the included breakfast in the dining room in the basement of the hotel is a welcome treat, specially when the cab is waiting for you at 7 am to take you to your 8 am appointment at a clinic across town. Cabs are coordinated through the front desk.||||All in all I would definitely return to this hotel if in Medellin for...
Read moreI spent one month at the Portal Del Rodeo Apartahotel. ||The pros are as follows:-||(1) a well equipped apartment with kitchen and utensils (I liked the inclusion of a blender);||(2) good working wifi;||(3) good housekeeping;||(4) a laundry room in the apartment where I easily washed my clothes by hand;||(5) easy access to supermarkets;||(6) buses transporting to the city center are just across the road from the hotel.||||The cons:- ||(1) Noise from the traffic. For the month I was there I was accommodated in room 203 just above the ground floor. I imagine the higher you are accommodated the quieter the room;||(2) Spraying of the apartment while I was there;||(3) I felt that the refurbishment of the door to the apartment where they had to remove the door for many hours could have been done after I checked out. I saw no difference after whatever they did was done. That and the spraying was done just a few days before I left.||Nevertheless, I liked the location which was close to sporting facilities. Furthermore, regarding the amount I paid for my stay I got excellent...
Read moreWe stayed here for three nights as a family (with kids aged 6 and 3), and unfortunately, this was the most disappointing accommodation of our trip to Colombia.
The location was decent, and having Arcadia Mall right next door was very convenient—we especially enjoyed the ceviche from the food court. However, the biggest letdown was the breakfast service. While the food itself was quite good, the way it was handled left a lot to be desired. We weren’t initially aware that breakfast would be served via room service at a pre-requested time, and unfortunately never came on time. This made it slightly frustrating when trying to stick to a schedule. If you’re planning a very relaxed visit, this may not be a big issue, but for us, it was somewhat inconvenient.
The room itself felt a bit aged, had a slightly odd smell, and overall, we just didn’t feel very comfortable here. In hindsight, I wish we had...
