Hotel Comercial Neiva — Hotel in Neiva

Well we knew we were at the cheap end of the spectrum here but having travelled all through Colombia, we did have a slightly higher expectation.||||The people who greeted us were absolutely lovely but unfortunately they were the best thing about this place (apart from the price)||||The room was very very hot. It has a tin roof i think and the lonely fan struggled to keep the air circulating throughout the night for us.||The room is also not that clean. There were dozens of cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and it looked like it hadn't been painted for many many years.||The beds were the worst in Colombia so far. two reasons - 1) the doubles are not big enough for 2 people 2) they are clearly old and sag in many places so you could feel every spring.||||The bathroom - Not sure how you are supposed to sit down when you need to as there was no seat! there was no hot water but as it is so hot here that wasn't really an issue.||||The main issue for us (and it may just be because it was a Friday night) was the local nightclubs. Not obvious to us when we arrived during daylight hours but as evening comes around, they get louder and louder and seemed to go on very late.||||Not really much sleep for us for several reasons so i would not recommend it...

The hotel was horrendous. But trying to cut back on costs a bit we decided that the beds were clean (the double beds are all very tiny here, so we had to take a room with 2 beds), we had our own bathroom with shower. Oh and a fan in the room - bargain for £8 a night. It was only one night so we could make do. Anyway the people were so lovely we didn't want to offend them by leaving - they had gone to such a big effort to make us feel welcome.||||We went for a walk - not too far - and found some food, then stopped at a street bar on the way back. It was just a very small bar but they had very loud music pumping out and everyone was dancing. We stopped and listened for a while then got up and joined in the dancing to the latin music. Fabulous.||||Well it's fair to say we didn't sleep very well that night. Firstly it was so hot. Secondly, the music that seemed so lovely when we were having a dance and a beer, wasn't so lovely when you can still hear it and every other bar competing in the neighbourhood, at 2am!||||Never-mind, the next day we were on the move again anyway and this time we were heading out...

We booked this hotel on Booking.com. |We were just looking for a cheap hotel before heading to the desert. |We had a private room with two beds for less than 20 dollars. |The bedrooms are small but clean. |Good hotel if you just want to stay one or two nights. |The staff was really nice, giving us lot of information. What's more they let us putout luggage in a locked room when we went two nights...
