Guachalés Hostal — Hotel in Pasto

I stayed one night and was one of three guests in the whole hostel. I asked about staying an extra night and later on the guy on the desk came and advised me that actually the whole hostel was fully booked the next day and all current guests would have to leave. Hm.|Being able to leave was actually a relief, because since checking in I had discovered the bathrooms to be the most disgusting I have seen and smelled in the last 5 months of travel. I'm really not that picky at this point. The shared bathroom had no working light and no window. The women's bathroom at first looked clean but then the stench of old urine hit and it smelled like the whole bathroom had been sprayed with urine - some time ago. I can't tell you how sad this made me after 20 hours travel from Bogota, when I just wanted to shower and feel clean.|When checking out I raised the cleanliness of the bathrooms with the guy on the desk and he said "yeah the cleaning lady hasn't been for a few days". What?! There are only 3 of us staying here and you don't have the capacity to clean the bathrooms? I wonder what the hostel full of guests the next day made of that. |Save yourself the money and go down the road where there is an excellent and...

Only stayed here one night, as indeed many seem to do as they are on their way from Cali to Ecuador or going the other way. The place is a really cool place though, the staff are VERY helpful, things were explained clearly and sincerely. The place is really clean and central as well so that people arriving late at night can go and get some Pizza two blocks up the road. If you were staying in Pasto longer this place would be ideal as they do organise tours as well....

I stayed over 2 weeks here - excessive for Pasto maybe but I had to work online. The first week was the Carnaval Negros y Blancos, fantastic! The second week was much quieter and the owner bent over backwards to give me a room to myself where I could work without getting in anyone's way.||||Otherwise the hostel is well-located, clean and cheap. The kitchen is decent, laundry service cheaper than other places I've been....
