Wow. Righto. Never quite had a hostel experience like this. I'll start with the good. Great air con at night (key word, night, don't try turning that thing on before 8pm) There is a kitchen. Not particularly big (actually it's tiny), or well equipped, but it's there. |Now the juicy stuff. We turned up after a sweaty 30min walk from the airport to find out the owner wasn't there, as she has a schedule each day that she abides by. This means if you turn up out of those hours, you can't get into the hostel. Luckily she has listed this information on the website, so you're not left stranded out the front, oh wait, no, it's not listed until you get to the very door that locks you out. But hey, the experience gets better when you get into the hostel, as you will become one of the employees. Unpaid, of course, but you will let people in, give them a tour of the hostel, all the fun stuff. |Once you squeeze past the other guests in the kitchen, you can take one of the 5 seats in the lounge room, where you can try to converse with other travelers (if you're lucky enough to see another traveler) over the sounds of Colombian X-factor. The challenge doesn't end there, as you must wrestle the one fan away from the owner to try and get a small breeze. |I'm droning on a bit here. My final recommendations: find out what time she is at the accommodation, then use your intuition to maybe avoid seeing her, and maybe avoid paying for the average accommodation you'll receive. Let's just say this is a tried and...
