Hotel Karakalí Boutique — Hotel in Santa Cruz de Mompóx

Unfortunately very unpleasant stay: Street cleaning with a leaf blower right outside our window (no glass, just wooden blinders) at 4:15am (!) for 30+ minutes. Impossible to sleep through, even with earplugs. Sounds like a tree is chopped with a chainsaw right outside the room. Avoid the room facing the street at all cost! Get a confirmation about being placed away from the street. The worst part ist that the hotel staff knows about this and even admitted that this happens every morning. Made me furious! Others negative aspect ist that the front gate is looked with a big padlock. Might be good for safety but a significant risk in case of fire. Guests depend on staff to open gate. Next negative was a seemingly free welcome-drink: After arrival I was asked if I wanted something, juice or beer was offered. I accepted the beer and was brought a ridiculiusly small glass. Maybe 1/3 of a can (100ml). Literally (and physically) one sip. Come checkout this was put in the bill with 7.000. Normally even tempered I lost my cool and refused to pay.

Apart from this the hotel itself is great and stylish. But within this price range (580k for family room) I believe you can find a better...

It is a very lovely boutique hotel. The aircon, the bed and the space in the room are awesome. However, what I enjoyed the most was the swimming pool (the design is awesome and perfect to fit every group) and the location! Loved the sunrise boat to.

However the address is not the one on google. You must go to the road next to the River and ask for it there. Is near a church/plaza de san francisco. Walk next to the river and...

My husband and I stayed for several nights and were completely satisfied with our experience. The hotel is very clean, with beautiful and spacious rooms.
