What a great place, perfectly located for Playa Grande. The space is only about 5 rooms run by the owners Natalia and Mathew who live on site. Simple and minimalist, the Indra Inn is new, clean, and has great quality beds with high end memory foam mattresses. The rooms are air conditioned which even during the wet season is a plus. It can be both hot and sticky in Guanacaste.
We enjoyed the breakfast of Tico traditional gallopinto egg and fresh fruit. Natalia and Mathew really pay attention to details and were very helpful about things to do besides the beach in the area.
We took in a day playing in the tourist town of Tamarindo and one morning enjoyed a guided tour of the local estuary with Jonathan's tours. It was great. Jonathan took us out in canoes where we saw much flora and fauna including howler monkeys, crocodiles, parrots, and other birds, fish, and crustaceans of the estuary. Bug spray and water shoes are recommended. The chiggars or no-see-em flies were serious. We are so glad Mathew recommended Jonathan.
Families will love Indra Inn for its kid friendly atmosphere. M&N's young son, Dante helped all the kids play and have a good time. Even with no "screens" on the property.
We really enjoyed the beauty of Guanacaste, Playa Grande, and out stay. We will definitely be back to stay at...
Read moreNothing but good things to say about Indra Inn. We found this place very last minute when our original housing for a 4.5 week trip fell through. The owners, Matt and Naty, graciously took us in for the entire stay, even when it meant navigating around their shorter bookings and making sure there was a room for us throughout the month. Their place comes exactly as advertised, it’s quiet, comfortable, and safe, a perfect place to use as a base for a trip to Playa Grande. I’ve stayed in all types of accommodations in the area from resorts and boutique hotels, to hostels and surf camps. Indra finds the middle ground giving comfort and privacy along with a taste of community all at the best rate around. Surf shops, restaurants, and the beach are all a short walk away, and if you are looking for adventures inland or in the neighboring beach towns, Matt has some great knowledge on things to check out within a short drive. If you need a a place to slow down for a bit, this family run hotel is the perfect spot. Thank you Matt and Naty for sharing this space with us for our long stay, we hope to see you...
Read moreWe loved our stay here! We needed a break from our car roof tent and we ended up here, best quality for the price you pay! The family that owns the place is extremely nice and helpful and the place is so well taken care of! The garden is very nice, everything is extremely clean and the rooms are amazing, with a very comfortable bed and pillows and a big toilette with one of the best showers we've had in our long trip along latin america! Room has also very good lightning and many charging points, which is always useful. You have a table with another socket and a hammock just outside your room, and a very well equipped kitchen for common use. Very quiet and relaxing 😊 Location is near a couple of very good restaurants and a 10min walk to the beach. We absolutely loved our stay there and was...
