Manzanillo Caribbean Resort — Hotel in Cahuita

Our family of 5, visited Baja del toro to see waterfalls and it got late when we started our drive to the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. We arrived at 9:20pm and Roger was just about to leave for the night but he was so happy to see us and got us to our cosy 2 bedroom villa. We woke up in the morning to hear birds, monkeys and really got to appreciate the beautiful natural setting this place is situated in. Roger is an absolute delight and was so helpful with his recommendations of things to see and do even though I did a fair amount of research myself. Rita with her beautiful smile was serving us our daily breakfast. I’ve eaten in many large scale resorts before and too much variety and mass produced food always leads to atleast one of us having an upset stomach. Here the breakfast is consistent with a slight change, enough to not make it boring. There’s also cereals, fruit, and this lovely banana bread that my youngest loved every morning. The food was always fresh and set us right for our day of activities. After a day out and returning to the hotel, we’d jump in the pool and Estaban was ready to serve us drinks at the cutest Tiki bar. Btw, He had good pours too. 😉 Roger even joined us in the pool and was great to talk to about worldly happenings and people. Next time I’m going to be prepared with cigars and brandy. Lol. Our Villa- just what our family needed without being too much or too less. The kitchen is well equipped although we didn’t cook. The air-con was quiet and worked perfectly. The hammocks below were so cute and kids put them to good use. I absolutely love this place. It’s one with nature, the atmosphere is so relaxing with everyone’s attitude being so genuine and friendly. If you have a car this is perfect because it is away from the busy Puerto Viejo but close enough to get anywhere. P.S. you also pretty much get Manzanillo beach to yourself which was simply amazing with its clear water, gorgeous sand and that ship wreck. Great job, Roger, Rita and the rest of the wonderful team that work in the background to make this place such a delight. We can’t wait...

We lucked out when we drove into Manzanillo Carib Resort asking for a room for the night! We got the last one! The room was clean, cozy, and had a small kitchen and fridge. Everything we needed! Breakfast, included with our room, was the best of our entire trip. A full and delicious buffet with fresh fruit, good coffee, and a variety of breakfast favorites. The location is quiet and a short drive to Manzanillo Beach where you can find several restaurants and a beautiful nature reserve beach walk. A beautiful place nestled in a magical location surrounded by nature, this spot was ideal for our family reunion. We had attendees from abroad and various parts of Costa Rica, all gathering in this serene setting. The manager, Roger, was incredibly helpful and accommodating, ensuring everything ran smoothly.
