Cabina Romantica — Hotel in Monteverde

We were at Romantic for an extended stay and found our hosts to be very kind and helpful. We were happy to be able to use the laundry which is in a separate building, but close by. We see that a previous review said that the neighboring cabin had a noisy roof on windy nights. Since wind is a constant in Monteverde, we would like to say, our casita, Romantic #2, is very solidly built and we felt very cozy and safe in the wildest weather.||It is small and the kitchen area is definitely not a two cook situation. However, for a short stay it is very adequate. BTW the very nearby Fonda Vela hotel restaurant is excellent and moderately priced. The bedroom is small and doesn't allow for being able to get out on both sides of the bed. We found it workable but inconvenient||The web site can be confusing because the different little cabins aren't identified, be sure to ask questions so there are no surprises. ||To comment on the "uninhabitable" review. These two cabins are NOT isolated. They are a few feet from a road, but are nicely tucked in surrounded by trees which, to my mind is a pretty much perfect situation.||So, the setting is lovely. The location is spectacular. The cloud forest is very close. One can walk to either the parking lot (1km), where they have a shuttle bus to the entrance gate or to the entrance gate (4km). We saw cars parked alongside the road near the entrance gate so they didn't have to pay to park. The cottage is adorable. Christina is very helpful. She helped us with arranging tours. She and her husband served a beautiful breakfast each morning. We had a small green toucan knock on the window each morning at 630 each day. The cottage is well stocked with cooking supplies. There is a stove and a small refrigerator, dishes, silverware, pans, and preparation tools. One could easily prepare meals here. The heart motif is fun. My husband created more hearts with the...

Lovely little spot for a couple or even a family (has 2 rooms with large beds). Dies have a romantic feel to it :)

Very clean, very thoughtful: all utensils in the kitchen you may need, gas cooktop, microwave, fridge, convenient bathroom, hot water, soap & shampoo, towels, small treats, wifi. We were surprised to get this much for the price!

The owner is such a nice person, shared her knowledge of the area, answered all our questions. The house is conveniently located very close to Monteverde's vibrant community with shops and attractions.
