Parqueo Reserva Monteverde cloud Forest — Attraction in Monteverde

It was quite a slog to get here due to severely pot-holed roads, but it was nice to stroll around the forest and see the efforts to preserve so much land in Costa Rica. You drive along a dirt road from the town for a few miles until you get to the Parqueo Reserva where you can park and either walk or catch a shuttle to the park entrance. From the entrance you can access all the trails of the park. We took a guided tour and spent about 2.5 hours walking around learning about the history of the park, the conservation efforts and looking at some of the flora and fauna. Loved it! Great national park with different hiking routes. We did the waterfall hike which was very nice, the Sendero Nuboso and hanging bridge. It took us around 3 hours. We saw different birds, squirrel and wild boar. We booked the tickets online and came around 7:30 am. It wasn't crowded at all the whole time we've been there. The Monte Verde cloud forest reserve was a real treat and a great experience for my family and I. We took a guided tour With the official reserve management. Our guide Elvis was excellent. He showed us both Flora and Fana, the unique aspects of the cloud forest reserve. He clearly was passionate about the topic and knew the reserve very well. Highly highly recommended.
