It was quite a slog to get here due to severely pot-holed roads, but it was nice to stroll around the forest and see the efforts to preserve so much land in Costa Rica. You drive along a dirt road from the town for a few miles until you get to the Parqueo Reserva where you can park and either walk or catch a shuttle to the park entrance. From the entrance you can access all the trails of the park. We took a guided tour and spent about 2.5 hours walking around learning about the history of the park, the conservation efforts and looking at some of the flora and fauna. Read moreLoved it! Great national park with different hiking routes. We did the waterfall hike which was very nice, the Sendero Nuboso and hanging bridge. It took us around 3 hours. We saw different birds, squirrel and wild boar. We booked the tickets online and came around 7:30 am. It wasn't crowded at all the whole time we've been there.
