The hostel is a bit shabby, it is obvious that they don't have many guests. One of the reasons is probably the vicinty of the noisy railroads and inadequate isolation of the rooms. I had to use earplugs to fall asleep and when I finally managed I was woken up by the boiling heat in the room. Namely, the rooftop window cannot be properly open and sleeping with the air condition on is out of the question because it is on the opposite side of the bed, directed straight to your head. There is also a problem with water-heater in the upper bathroom, since it is obviously self-regulated regardless of your wishes. Every five seconds the water changes its temperature from freezing cold to burning hot. Be careful with that! ||At the end of my stay, the owner complained for not having enough guests. I was not surprised by that fact, since she was absent from the reception desk during my whole three days stay. The welcome was also not very warm. I came twenty minutes before and she scolded me for that. Of course, she wasn't there, so I ended up having an indifferent command from her daugher: 'Give me your ID!' Afterwards she disappeared for ten minutes with no explanation. No 'Hello' or explanatory note. That was really rude!||There is a no smoking sign all over the hostel. but that doesn't prevent someone to chain smoke during the whole night. I almost threw up when going to a bathroom! And that were not the guests since I was the only one at that time. But what I resent the most is the fact that I had asked the owner before I came if there was a private bathroom. She said yes without hesitation, but I had a private bathroom only because there were no other guests. Be prepared to a shared bathroom!||Finally, the reason why I decided to go for this hostel is the fact that they have single rooms and that's the only advantage. Wi-Fi is free and signal is ok. Bed was comfortable, you have a small table, a lamp and a wardrobe in your room. ||I guess my friendly advice to the owners would be to improve isolation, repair the insufficiencies and smile a...
Read moreI had 5 nights comfortable staying in this hostel. It needs about 0.53 euro cost by 290 city bus to nearby hostel bus stoppage. Faculty of Veteniery is the last stoppage to arrive hostel from the Zagreb airport. Afterward it's about 950 m far by walking distance to hostel. There are a big Kaufland beside the hostel (200 m) and a small local bazar. Although I reserved by booking. Com without payment, I got my booked room. The room was neat and clean, a tiny space for preparing tea and coffee, a small refrigerator, microwave, a vendor machine for buying drinks and chocolate by coins. The showers and toilet were clean. I found dust on my provided TV remote. I saw lickage of water in toilet, but the owner repaired it. There are bit noise by train connection. The Hostel is a bit old, but Vintage beautiful as like Zagreb city.
Causations: The Zagreb city is beautiful, vintages, the people seams not in hurry and stress as like bigger cities in Germany. They are friendly and helpful. But one of my friend lost her passport, resident permit, money on the way from Airport to Zagreb city. Pickpocketer stole her properties. On the second day, she received her passport and resident permit from Police, but not money. Overall, the hostel staying was excellent regarding the cost compared to...
Read moreWe had a lovely two night stay here. If you coming from airport take the shuttle it’s 8 Euro per person into the city. Ask the driver if he passes close by, if not go till the main bus station and take a number 17 tram, I forget the name of the tram station you get off then it’s a 8 min walk to the Hostel. It’s actually nicely enough out of the city all teams are easy once you know the system and the numbers. The owners helped us a lot. Highly recommend it. Had no problems and Zagreb is general is a safe city. Trams ride till late at night and walking alone is no issue at all for ladies alone. There’s nearby supermarkets and there’s a local market somewhere behind the hostel we didn’t get time to go there, I think stuff might be cheaper there than at supermarket if you on a tight budget. Overall good place. Looks plain, but has everything you need and people here sleep with some doors open still. It’s cool if you come from a country where you...
