Panda kineski restoran — Restaurant in City of Zagreb

Pricy yet inadequate! I reached to the restaurant thinking it would be a popular place based on previous reviews on internet. However, I didn’t know I was straight on the path to disappointment. When entering the restaurant there was no one to greet and show towards general dining area. I ordered food that arrived after serving three tables who came and sat after me. The hot and sour soup was smelling like rotten eggs. I reordered tomato soup, but it was straight up tomato puree microwaved with diced tomatoes. No taste, no condiments to improve. The shrimp dumplings were palatable. The chicken fried rice was too dry and flavourless. Peas in the rice were undercooked.

Overall quite a disappointing meal and shock...

Long established restaurant that consistently hits the mark. Many of the dishes get as close as availability of key ingredients makes possible in Zagreb, and the duck dishes especially are spot on ....on the other hand we have had a couple of beef dishes where the meat wasn't always as tender as you would expect. The services is excellent, the atmosphere is functional rather than a place for the special dinner and the home made pancakes that accompany the crispy duck area more than a bit heavy compared to what you may be used to. They do make good efforts to source authentic ingredients though and certainly don't fall into the trap that other local competitors do of simply using cabbage as a substitute...

I would strongly recommend you avoid this place. My wife and I both ordered satay chicken which, when it arrived, was like dried up shoe leather.

When we complained about it, the waitress claimed is supposed to be like that. We then elected to try the sweet and sour pork, but were advised that we wouldn't like it, because it's also very dry.

In the end we had a hot plate dish with three meats and vegetables, which was OK, nothing more.

Additionally, the spring rolls were cold.

They removed one of the satay from the bill, but we still had to pay for the other, even though we didn't eat them.

I hate to be so negative, but I call it how I see it. Avoid this place, or risk...
